Follow in the footsteps of Rome’s ancient gladiators during this two-hour, small-group tour of the Colosseum, which includes a visit to the arena floor—usually restricted to visitors. Take the route the fighters themselves once embarked on to enter the ring. After visiting the Colosseum, head to nearby Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum with your guide for an additional hour of sightseeing.

Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
Please note we will either start with the Colosseum or the Roman Forum/Palatine Hill depending on the time of tickets we can purchase.
Colosseum admission is free on the first Sunday of the month. Tours are discounted on these days.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers

Excellent tour and guide

Our tour guide was great. He was very knowledgeable and really a great story teller. He made sure to explain the historical significance of some archaeological remnants that would otherwise be easily overlooked. For such a large amount of area covered, the pacing felt perfect and not rushed. The routes he led us through were great and allowed you to see things from perspectives in an ordering which felt more impactful. Highly recommend and a great use of our limited time in Rome.

Amazing guide

Tour guides was easy to find, Suzanne took us round the colosseum, gladiator arena, palatine hill, the Roman forum and even to the top viewpoint. She was very friendly, knew a lot about the sites and the history behind them. Small group of 12 which made it much easier to get through everything. Me and my partner really enjoyed ourselves and learnt so much. Suzanne is a credit to the team :)

We had the most amazing time on this arena floor tour of the Colosseum. Our guide Paolo was incredible! He really bought everything to life. So glad that we decided to do the arena tour instead of a standard Colosseum one, was well worth it. Words cannot describe the view upon entering the arena - it really is a once in a lifetime experience. We will not hesitate to book again! 100% recommend!

A must do tour

This is a must do tour when you are in Rome! It was my first time in the City and I am so glad I booked this tour. Our Guide was very knowledgeable and did not bore the group at all. We were given earphones which was really important in the midst of crowds at the Colosseum! I especially enjoyed visiting the arena floor the middle section of the Colosseum, it was a great opportunity to walk around and take some great pics. Thanks!!
