  • Flammable Sprays, Selfie sticks, knifes or any kind of guns or cutters even with license can not enter the Colosseum
  • Police control and metal detector controls can slow the fast track entrance
  • Experience may start with Roman Forum then move to Colosseum or vice versa ...

This was an amazing experience entering the Coliseum through the Gladiator's Gate. Our guide, Modi, was one of the best we've ever had, with a wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humor. This tour was well worth the investment.

Factual but colourless experience

An informative tour which brought the basic historic facts to our attention. But we lacked a little enthusiasm and joy from the guide which really would have brought the past to life for our teenage daughters. The narrative felt a little automated, and lacked the nuances which brings colour and sparks the imagination. The tour was furthermore scheduled for 3 hours but finished after 2.5hrs, with very little information on the forum. I guess the guide ran out of information to share with us?!

Brilliant tour!! Anna our guide was very knowledgable. The added extra of the arena floor was well worth the money. The 3 hours went in a flash. Would highly recommend. We’ve done a few tours in Rome and this one was by far the best.

Worth it to beat the lines

We’d been on I similar tour of the Vatican and found it well paced and very interesting, this was a bit slower and as a result I found myself drifting quite a bit. The tour guide was pleasant, but we spent 45 minutes at the start standing still just listening to some history and looking at maps. As a result, we only got a few minutes in the Roman Forum. The tour of the Coliseum itself was a little better but still too much time wasted in my opinion. However, it’s worth booking the tour just to beat the lines to enter. The Roman Forum took a little time but we pretty much walked straight into the Coliseum.

Very knowledgeable guide, learned a lot of the history of the Colosseum and Roman history plus she knew the best spots for pictures. It was a hot day we were there and the tour guide made sure everyone had water and made a stop at one of the fountains inside the Colosseum for us to refill. Thank you!!
