For security reasons sacks, bags or knapsacks are not allowed inside the Doges’ Palace: FREE DEPOSIT INSIDE
DOGES PALACE OPENING HOURS: From 09:00am to 6:00pm (last admission 5:00pm).

A stroll through the Doge’s Palace in Venice.

The tour through the Doge’s Palace was made memorable by the knowledge and enthusiasm of our guide. Although the tour was under an hour, it was very extensive.

Skip the line- yes. Customer service - not so much

The skip the line part worked fine. St. Marks Square was barricaded off for a military event. The lady at the newsstand who gave me the ticket was on the phone and didn’t really guide me in the direction I needed to go. I eventually found it though.

This was the best of the Viator tours we did on this trip, but app and support from Viator has been terrible. They are money grubbing. Happy to take your cash and don’t feel the need to provide the service.

Doge’s place was such a unique experience! The artwork and detail was amazing! The skip the line tickets were very much appreciated as the lines to seem to be long, but we got in at our ticket time.

Viator tickets didn’t work. We were told to walk all the way to the opposite corner of St Marks Square to convert tickets. Would have taken an extra 45 min, which we didn’t have. Total loss, we had to buy two more tickets at the palace.

I woke up feeling ill on the day of the booking but was unable to transfer the booking to the next day. So the 5 of us missed out on going inside the Doge’s Palace :(

Amazing Place poor ticket dispenser!

The palace was amazing! Finding the ticket office was not easy and the man working there was rude and abrupt. It was like we were imposing on him to hand out the tickets. In addition we bought 5 tickets and only got 2 books to use not worth the money . Use a different company and save yourself the cash and headaches!

A great church to visit but check what’s included in your tour

St. Marks Basilica is a wonderful building, impressive, colourful and historic. The visit included the Basilica, its Museum and stepping out onto the terrace above the square, where you were allowed to stay as long as wished. It did not include viewing the Pala d’Oro Byzantine altar piece but this could be privately purchased for EUR 5 before leaving the building. I’d like aviator to have fewer, clearer choices about what’s in and out of their tours!

This includes a prepaid ticket which you collect from a nearby kiosk. Enter at prepaid tickets entrance -no queue as promised. Guide book is a general Venice guide book, not one for Doge's Palace. Inside it is very busy in the morning with many large tours.

We encountered a guide just inside the entrance offering a 40 minute tour for 20 Euro. That was the best choice we made, as she was incredibly knowledgeable. She explained the purposes of all the rooms and what the various art represented. It was excellent!

Beautiful building and wonderful visit to the palace. Please note, these are prepaid tickets but you do not skip the line. Also, you must claim the tickets before entrance, the voucher will not allow admittance. The voucher gives instructions but they could be clearer. The location to get the tickets is not in the square but behind the square through the museum corro.

Very bad directions on how to find tickets…The directions were a farce..Finally after looking at a map we were able to find the street…What a rip off! the guide book was basically a picture book ofVenice..

Palace was great, booklet not useful

The self-guided tour was enjoyable enough, but the tickets were advertised as including a written guide. We found out well after exchanging our vouchers for tickets at the meeting site that a guide was supposed to have been included at that time (it wasn’t). When we returned later to get the guides, the lady initially resisted, but finally gave us two of the four we should have gotten. While nice picture books of Venice, these guides wouldn’t have been useful for the specific tours we did. If you want to do anything more than read the signage during the tour, I’d suggest purchasing at least an audio if not a guided tour.

So the skip the line was just that. You go to the pickup spot which is the news stand and then ask the person there for your tickets. Don't wait for someone to give them to you. I sometimes like just going through places and not having to listen about every aspect of the place. I think you can easily enjoy just walking through the Doge's. It is a really cool place so I would recommend that you check it out.
