The whole experience was topnotch. From the immediate communication via Whatsapp with Ariana; Javier’s prompt arrival in an immaculate van; the ability to alter the itinerary to suit us (as the sole participants); to a custom drop-off at our next lodging. Javier’s local knowledge and ease through the Tlacolula market and ability to work us into a rug cooperative in Teotitlan was remarkable. We thoroughly enjoyed this day here in Oaxaca!

This was a great tour, and terrific value. I went mostly for the market tour, but was blown away by the gorgeous ruins and church visits. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Sunday tour
Most memorable was walking the market at Tlacolula. It's HUGE. Five blocks of Sunday wares, and then a very large permanent market. Housewares, crafts, great food. . . and so many beautiful people. Jose Alberto walked with us, describing a great-tasting drink and explaining crafts, then he left us to explore on our own. . . perfect balance of overseeing and waiting while we explored. When our first destination, a church, was being used for a local event, Jose Alberto seamlessly re-routed to a slightly different but equally interesting place. He also explained the significance of the unknown-to-us ceremony happening at the church. Jose Alberto, with his great English, is an knowledgable guide, a great driver, and a lovely person to spend the day with in this fascinating part of Oaxaca state.

Our guide Alberto was really good. Since we were the only group he was flexible with our requests. The old church was so beautiful. We’ll definitely recommend this tour.
