Needs more if sampling tour

Pub trip. I wish there were more food sampling stops scheduled. I suggested one for bakery sample but the only other one suggested was the pub which was delightful Needs more planned stops not just a walking tour

This is difficult because I do not usually give negative reviews but in an effort to keep others from this experience here it is. This was the worst tour we have ever been on. The guide was contracted by the company and all he kept talking about was his food budget. I did not book the tour to be cheap and it was not a cheap tour. We were in Amsterdam and the foods he took us to were an English type pub, a Thai food walk up counter, and a Turkish pizza deli. He was worried about desert because it would be over budget! We do food tours to get a taste of local foods – in Amsterdam we thought that would be Dutch food not Thai and Turkish! In addition, the Thai and Turkish were not top quality.

First, it is important to understand that you don't get a tour guide for this tour. You get a locally based person ....which is neither good nor bad, just important to level set expectations. If you have the appropriate expectations, then it was a lovely time with a local getting a sense of the local scene. Given they are not a guide, they didn't really think about sharing an overview of the route we would go or stopping for moment to rest...So you need to claim your needs! It was nice. Not sure it was worth the price compared to food tours we have done in other cities, but we really enjoyed the our local person and it was a nice afternoon.
