What To Expect

Make your way to the Estacio del Nord bus station to board a comfortable air-conditioned bus with a local English-speaking guide. Make sure to check in on the top floor before heading to your bus.

Drive to Montserrat and board the cogwheel train that transports you to the monastery, which offers views of the Catalan countryside. Indulge in local delicacies such as coca de Montserrat and Montserrat liquor. The adventure continues to Oller del Mas, an exceptional château celebrated for its organic wines. Temperatures in Montserrat and the winery tend to be more extreme than in Barcelona. Please check the weather forecast the day before and dress accordingly. We advise bringing water, especially in the summer season.

Vince was a fantastic tour guide. Really made sure we made the most of our time at Monserrat. Very knowledgeable about wine and winery as well as Montserrat. The tapas was a perfect snack to go along with our wine tasting. It should be noted that the cogwheel train does not actually take you up to the mountain but an air conditioned modern train takes you up the side of the Mountain. Still pretty cool to see the views from there.

Wonderful tour of the basilica at Monserrat. Lots of interesting facts and plenty of time to discover things on your own before going to the Oller del Mas winery. Good wine tasting and lunch. Dani made a great guide.

I loved the art museum and monastery. The bus ride was good. They gave us a history lesson that was very informative. The winery was ok. Lunch had mixed reviews. The chicken was very good. Bread was cold and hard, no butter. I didn't liked the dessert. The wine at lunch seemed water down, not much body. Our guide MJ was late getting to the bus. During lunch, we saw the other guides helping get their people served. MJ was no where to be found. When she was with us, she was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable.

We loved the tour of Montserrat. We visited on a Sunday and witnessed the end of services in the Basilica. The drive to the winery Oller Del Mar was beautiful. The winery itself was gorgeous and the wines were excellent. Our guide Toni was amazing and made each part of the trip more enjoyable. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time in Montserrat and at the winery. Agustina is such a lovely person and an excellent tour guide who easily managed a large group with cheerfulness. She shared interesting anecdotes and was so informed about history—the day flew by. We enjoyed the charming winery and felt special to be able to visit such a long-standing family tradition of winemakers, the 36th generation of owners. The young man who joined the wine tasting was also very knowledgeable and we found the wine-making process interesting. We happily give this tour a 10!

Montserrat is a lovely place. I noticed the mountains were sharp and pointy looking off and away. However, just above the precious town they are roundish, gargantuan boulders sitting just above the buildings and ones heads. They have no feet so I have no fear, but what an incredible geological phenomena to see! I love seeing it.

MJ was incredible. She was so knowledgeable and so beyond friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. The tour of Monserrat was my last stop on my 2.5 week trip around Spain, and I couldn’t be happier to have ended it on this excursion. I highly recommend this tour. Our trip to Monserrat with lunch and wine tasting was lovely. Pol was our guide and he was professional. His skills as a guide were excellent. His manner polite, knowledge exceptional and everything an employer would want. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The only draw back we found was the distance from the Gothic area to the North Bus Station. A taxi is necessary. The lunch at the winery was very nice better than we expected and the wine tasting fun with Pol’s wine knowledge excellent.

Amazing experience-disappointing tapas and tasting

Basilica was best thing we saw in Barcelona. Such an incredible experience. Wine at winery was also fabulous. However, we were beyond disappointed in the tapas, would have been inedible if we weren’t starving. Tour guide also took a little too much time explaining things. We would have liked more time to explore Monserrat and winery. Reviews said “plenty of wine” we had three tastings not even equaling a full glass of wine with all three. Then only had ten minutes to purchase a glass if desired.

Anays was a wonderful guide for Montserrat and wine tasting. She had an enthusiasm for history and wine that lasted the whole trip. A guided tour was given at Montserrat and then enough free time to explore on our own. The winery served a delicious wine and a sit down lunch. We had teenagers with us and they were accommodating to them as well. I would highly recommend this tour.

We booked this tour for our family of 4 and were treated with a great history lesson and incredible views (& wine). The tour started off with Catalonian history which was essential for understanding the culture and lifestyle. Our multitalented tour guide MJ was extremely knowledgeable and even more charming — one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had. The tour began at Montserrat where we covered history and had free time to roam afterwards. Next, we went to a winery for lunch and wine tasting that was over 1000 years old and has been in the same family for 37 generations. MJ made us feel like a family and was great at getting our tour group to talk to & get to know one another. The food and wine were excellent. Both Montserrat and this winery were so magical. A great tour whether you come with family, friends or loved ones.
