The highlight of our trip

We highly recommend this tour. Our guide José was incredible and the entire day was thoughtfully planned out. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and driven to a beautiful spot in the jungle near Puerto Morelos. Between the two locations we visited with José, he identified more than 40 bird species and a variety of regional flora. He was also very knowledgeable about regional history and was responsive to our questions throughout the entire tour. After the first part of the tour, we were prepared an awesome meal including freshly made tortillas and black beans. Eating local cuisine in the jungle was a memorable experience in its own right. Perhaps the highlight, however, was spotting a toucan! After the tour, José sent us a comprehensive list of the birds we saw via eBird, so we could recall and study the species in greater detail. We had some birding experience before this trip, but this tour is very accessible to people who have never bird-watched but simply want to get out and experience a wonderful aspect of the Yucatán Peninsula's natural environment. Despite Cancún's beautiful beaches, José's bird watching tour was the highlight of our trip!
