What To Expect

Travel to Chichen Itza for early direct access to the ruins. Follow your guide through the UNESCO World Heritage Site before most of the crowds arrive, allowing up-close access and a more tranquil experience.

Purchase your ticket and head inside through a direct entry to learn about the important role that this well-preserved site played in Mayan civilization between AD 600 and 1200 from your expert guide. Listen to your guide's explanation of how this pre-Colombian settlement was an important destination for pilgrimages and a center of worship for the Mayan people, which is still considered sacred today.

Visit the Temple of Kukulkan, the Temple of the Jaguars, the Temple of the Warriors and the Observatory. Hear about the meaning of the staircases, stone carvings, platforms, pyramids, and ball courts according to the mythology and cosmology of the ancient Mayan people.

Visit the untouched archaeological site of Yaxunah, following a local Mayan guide through the jungle. Here, learn about the hidden secrets and unnamed pyramids of the site as well as information about the Mayan community.

Then, enjoy a delicious Mexican Buffet with vegetarian options, and finish your day swimming in a sacred cenote.

Very memorable tour! Our guide, Daniel, was very friendly and full of knowledge about the areas we visited and Mayan culture. We learned so much that day and left with a greater appreciation of the history and culture! Bernardo, the driver, was also a excellent and made the day go very smoothly. I recommend a good nights sleep prior to this tour, as it is action packed. Chichen Itza was gorgeous and the tour was very informative. The lunch buffet was delicious, especially the pork tacos. The cenote was so beautiful and refreshing to swim in- jump in, you will not regret it! Overall a great experience!

Absolutely amazing tour and experience. There’s time to learn about the Mayan history and explore on your own. Tomas and Ricardo were amazing and guiding us. We loved everything about this trip. We would definitely recommend the early access because it was packed when we were leaving. It is an early pick up, but it’s literally an all day excursion. Wasn’t too bad and they picked us up in front of our lobby at Excellence Riviera. Got in early to the pyramids and got good photos with no one in the background.

Our main tour guide was Rodrigo, Manuel and Pastor were also part of the experience. He made this one of the most enjoyable, mind-blowing days of our life. It is a long ride and a long day but believe me when I say our guide and the ruins made it so worth it! I can’t recommend doing the super early tour enough because it gets HOT and busy but it’s bearable when you get there and by the time it’s getting super uncomfy you’re on your way to swim in a nice cool denote. Lunch was yummy too and there were good vegetarian options! We learned so much fascinating history on this tour and it was our favorite excursion of our whole honeymoon!

Rodrigo and George were excellent. So wonderful to have a real Mayan give the tour. The early access was key. Even though we had to wake up a my 0 dark thirty. It was worth it. Just as the heat was getting intense and crowds were arriving in droves…we were leaving for the cool cenote. I highly recommend this tour

Trip with 9 year old Memorable!

We glad to pick the early trip to Chichen Itza! We enjoyed the tour so much with tour guide Rodrigo! He is very knowledgeable and he knows the in and out of this historic place. He is very professional and organized. We toured with our 9 year old and she enjoyed the whole thing! The bus is very comfortable to sleep on the way back. Bring lots of water and hats.

We had a reat time with our guides, Frank, Juan and our driver Manuel. Frank took care of us on the first leg of our journey. His expertise in the Mayan civilization and culture was appreciated! We learned a great deal. Juan was our guide for Chichikan. He taught us about Mayan Shamans, we met and received a blessing from a fourth generation Shaman before continuing to our buffet lunch, which was delicious and the Tequila tasting. I recommend the coffee Tequila. The cenote was so cool and refreshing! It's natural beauty was worth the many steps in and out! We arrived safe and comfortable back to our starting location! It was a long day but worth it!

I was looking for the earliest group tour of Chichen Itza starting from Cancun, to see the sites at the coolest and least crowded part of the day, and also to get back to Cancun early. As per the instructions I received the previous day, I met the bus at 5:40am at a hotel which was a 10 minute walk from my Airbnb in Cancun Centro. The first people in the group had been picked up at 4am. Yikes! The bus was very comfortable, and was about half full. Seven people who had registered for the trip did not show. We arrived at Chichen Itza at about 8:30am Cancun time (7:30am Chichen Itza local time), and had about 2 ½ hours of guided tour by our guide Manuel, who was very knowledgeable and fun. We then drove to the Chichikan Cenote for a swim, as well as tequila tasting, lunch, and a visit with a shaman. The drive back to Cancun was smooth and quiet, and good for getting a little more sleep. I was dropped off at the starting point a little under 12 hrs after getting picked up. All in all a pleasant and worthwhile experience, if a little touristy at times, as one would expect. A private tour would have been more time-efficient and flexible, but much more expensive.

The entire experience was fantastic, our tour guide Frank was exceptional, he had plenty of knowledge and was able to answer any and all questions while also being very friendly, he even translated our Mayan horoscopes for us which was a really nice touch. 10/10

This was hands down one the the absolute best tours I’ve ever joined. Rodrigo was the best tour guides I’ve ever came across, he was extremely knowledgeable and engaging the entire time. I’ve never paid attention so much to someone speaking about history. Pastor was also fantastic guiding us along the way and to the cenote which was a much needed cool off. If you’re thinking about this tour, stop thinking and just sign up. 100% worth it!

Highly recommend the early tour!

I’m really glad we opted for the early tour. It was so hot at Chichén Itza even early in the morning. By the time we left, it was even hotter and way, way more crowded. The lunch and cenote was a welcome break after the heat. Frank was our guide and he did a great job explaining Mayan culture and the history of the sites and buildings. Alex was our driver and did a great job. It was a really long day, though. We left around 5 am and got back after 5 pm. But I definitely recommend the tour as long as you’re prepared for the long day.

Making wonderful memories

We were thrilled to have Manuel Tequila and Romero as guides for Chichen Itza and the Cenote swim because we had heard to much about Manuel T's narration. We booked the Early trip through Viator and Amigo Tours. Communication was excellent, with updates on where the pick up point was, even with a picture. The air conditioned bus was comfortable and the guides gave us a good review of what we were about to experience. And once we arrived at Chichen Itza, Manuel T's anecdotes about the Mayan society made this historic destination come to life. Tequila tasting was interesting and the buffet lunch plentiful and tasty. Loved swimming in the gorgeous moss and fern draped Cenote. I was hesitant at first because there were so many steps down to the water. I'm 76 and in fair shape and decided to take the plunge. It was definitely worth it! All in all this was a great excursion!!!

Long day-totally worth it.

Just went on 4/9/24 and Alberto was our guide and he was truly fantastic. Very knowledgeable and helpful! My only real complaint was the limited time at Chichen itza and the Cenote. It felt rushed and a lot of time in the van/bus even though I know some of that can't be helped because of time constraints. Also, didn't love that we had to drive to Cancun to drop off other passengers when we were in Playa- feels like there could be more organizing so that we didn't have nearly an extra 2 hrs in the car for an already long day. All in all- it was an amazing experience and great to get there right at opening to avoid the crowds/heat. Another plus was that the buffet lunch was very good with lots of options. Tip: if you are going to swim at the Cenote - you have to purchase THEIR life jackets. We had brought our kids' life jackets with us and were told that they couldn't swim unless we purchased the tickets/life jackets after we were initially told they could use ours and the cost of our ticket would cover the Cenote entry. Alberto helped make it right and figured everything out for us.

We can’t stop talking about our AMAZING experience with Amigo Tours. This in my opinion was only possible due to their incredible tour guide Rodrigo AKA CAT and his driver NRoberto. This man was one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had and we travel. They were punctual with a 4:35 AM pick up. The bus was clean and AC ready. We were very pleased to have chosen an early morning tour due to the crowds and heat. You’ll see when leaving. Also you’ll have an opportunity to take better photos. Rodrigo will make sure you take the best shots. Most importantly Rodrigo is Mayan and lives in Chichen Itza with his family. He actually grew up in a house feet away from the pyramid and used to play as a child on those beautiful and sacred grounds. He is educated and well rounded leaving you filled with information that most tour guides don’t have to offer since they didn’t grow up in the same environment/culture. Make sure you listen since he likes to involve the group making it entertaining and informative. The cenote swim is refreshing in a beautiful setting. Make sure you bring your own water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Don’t forget to bring cash since you’ll have to pay for lockers, life vests and drinks at the buffet. Amazing food. Great selection. You’ll be able to siesta in the shade while swinging in a hammock. Please make sure you stimulate the local economy and spend your money where it will directly impact the community. Make sure to get your Mayan Astral chart. Your name and DOB needed. It will reveal information about you. It’s worth the pesos. Overall just an amazing experience and we hope you’ll hire more Mayan people since it only makes sense. Thank you. I hope this will be of use to someone. Safe travels everyone.

Great experience, Roberto was nice and polite. Only issue in the beginning they try to sell you your Mayan name and future past related to Mayan for 38$USD which looks bit pushy and cenote was bit dirty.
