What To Expect

Make your own way to the meeting point in the center of Dublin. Meet your guide and small group of fellow travelers and head south toward the Wicklow Mountains, passing by Great Sugar Loaf mountain and descending through Ireland's highest village, Roundwood on your way to Glendalough.

Make a short stop at one of the most photographed locations in Wicklow, Lough Tay, before continuing to Glendalough Monastic Settlement. You have plenty of time here to explore the Glendalough valley, its Celtic crosses, round tower, and scenic lakes, and to take a short walk on the Wicklow Way, which runs through the valley.

Your tour ends back at the meeting point in central Dublin.

Stunning scenery, so peaceful and tranquil. Comfortable journey. Guide was very informative. Value for money. Only downfall was pick up point, although this was easily accessible the bus then stopped outside our hotel for another pick up. This was not provided as an option to us when booking?

Our bus driver, Frank, was awesome! Perfect mix of educational and funny. We really enjoyed our half day in the mountains despite a little rain. The monastic site was interesting and the drive from Dublin to Wicklow was scenic and beautiful.

Amazing experience...driver and guide Mr Glen was quite funny and knowledgeable about the place around...he was very kind ,polite , witty and courteous...the trip is packaged well , one hour drive to reach , Glendalough and wicklow mountains are superb...they have few stalls near by which serve coffee, ice cream , snacks...plus a shop selling woollens...they gave us an hour and a half to be on our own and then got us back to the city centre....overall 5 stars for the trip and a great experience from Paddywagon team...Dr Vijay k ...Mumbai India- visited on 25/4/24 ...830am...

The drive to Glendalough was filled with historical contextualization and beautiful scenic views. Our tour guide, Iain was fantastic. He was engaged, friendly, and informative. The views and beautiful and whole half day was terrific, you could spend more time. This was just perfect.

DON’T DO IT!! The bus was forty minutes late, and we never stopped at the promised mountain photo op spot, just one stop and since the tour was almost an hour behind we paid for a smaller amount of time. It was awful.

Totally worth it! I almost skipped this one bc the destination isn’t as well known, but I’m glad I didn’t. The views were stunning and surrounded by interesting history. And our guide/driver Alex was informative and funny. Two things to note: there is a lot of walking and some of the sites are up steep hills/generally inaccessible to anyone with mobility issues. And go in the morning, if you can. Lots of school groups arrived around 11AM and there were kids running and screaming all over.
