What To Expect

Meet your guide in central Dublin and settle into your seats for a thrilling drive through the Wicklow Mountains. Admire the patchwork of lush farmlands, forests, and lakes as you wind along the scenic country lanes and climb through the hills of Wicklow. Jump out to discover Glendalough, the picturesque ‘Valley of Two Lakes’, and follow your guide to the most stunning lookout points. Along the way, learn about Glendalough’s significance as an early Christian settlement and stop to explore the 6th-century monastic ruins, which rank among the oldest in Ireland.

Back on the bus, continue your journey along the dramatic mountain pass of Wicklow Gap, where you have a chance to hop out and take photos. Finally, arrive in Kilkenny, Ireland’s medieval capital, where you can take in the highlights on a guided walking tour. Pat was an exceptional tour guide. He was both knowledgeable and humourous and kept the entire coach entertained (and informed!) the whole time. The Wicklow Mountains and area are beautiful and Kilkenny is quite cute (make sure to check out the castle!).

Pat is a great tour guide and Alec is an excellent driver! Love that the tour guide and driver are two different people, where in other tours they are the same person. Great views and locations have interesting history. We were given reasonable amounts of time to explore each stop and I did get a lot out of the tour.
