The Cathedral of Florence is an “operating” church that can be closed to visitors for any liturgical reason, even without warning (for the funeral of a Cardinal, for example)
Consider leaving a buffer before your next tour as the Cupola climb may take longer than expected

Please be aware that the off season is an opportunity for restoration work, often unannounced.
Visitors are advised that the Baptistery is undergoing restoration of the mosaics of the vault. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Entry to the Cathedral is not guaranteed as the Cathedral is a working church and hours can change without notice due to liturgical or other reasons. Our guides make every effort to enter the Cathedral with guests.
Backpacks or large bags are not allowed
Florence can be very warm in the summer. Please be advised that this tour includes portions that are outside and could be in the full sun. Please bring a hat, small umbrella, or sunscreen if you are sensitive to the sun.
There are 463 steps to climb the dome at the end of the tour (and no elevator).
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 12 travelers

If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

Great guide, great tour

This was an amazing hour, regardless of the physical demands to climb the Duomo and the heat of the day, me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed it. Marco was an incredible guide, very knowledgeable, friendly, and has a way of explaining things that I think is very engaging. Grazie Marco!

Wonderful tour! The guide spoke excellent English and was well versed in all aspects of the history and culture surrounding the Duomo, museum and baptistery. She was great at answering the many questions we had while keeping the group on time. Climbing the Duomo was steep but had fantastic views.

Anastasia (our guide) was incredible, always making sure we were taken care of, waiting for everyone, answering questions and giving us tips along the way. The cue to climb the Duomo was shirt and our guide gave us a pep talk before climbing the 453 steps to top of Duomo (which we needed) and even along the way we stop and she gave us tips of the construction. It was an incredible trip, being a small group helped tremendously. Even on top, she explained all the big points of the amazing view. So far the best tour we had, this is a must do. Thanks Anastasia.

Great tour of the church, museum, and dome. Marco was a very a knowledgeable guide, and gave us lots of great history. Worth doing this to avoid the long line for tickets. Recommend doing this in the morning. Tickets are good for 3 days so plenty of time to explore more after lunch and later days.

Great tour. Our guide, Leonardo, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Seeing the inside the Duomo and the Baptisary was amazing. Leonardo did a great job of telling us the history of everything. We liked that the group was small also. At the end of the tour we were advised we could climb to the top of the dome with out ticket. My husband and I elected not to go ....it was 103 degrees that day. The ticket we get with this tour is good for 3 days, which is a great value if you want to come back on another day. I highly recommend the tour.
