A great food tour - you won’t leave hungry!

Even though the weather was absolutely miserable, (pouring rain) this was a wonderful experience. We tried wonderful, traditional dishes, visited a few small-run businesses keeping it real, and we left very full. We never felt rushed, as can be the case with some tours, and we gained a lot of insight about traditions and the city itself.

The Florence food tour was a delightful experience that perfectly combined history, culture, and delicious cuisine. Our knowledgeable guide took us to the best spots, where we sampled a variety of local delicacies and learned about Florence's rich food traditions. It was a fantastic way to immerse ourselves in the city's culinary scene and highly recommended for anyone visiting Florence!

We have done food tours in multiple locations around the world and have looked forward to them. Our host for this experience was not a fan of the city or country we were in, was generally condescending, not engaging for particularly friendly. We were not impressed with this tour, while the food was ate was fairly good - the experience was not very good due to the poor host.

The best way to experience food in Florence

Since it's starting to be the off-season, there were only the two of us on our tour. Our knowledgeable local guide, Linda, took us to five different restaurants to try all sorts of local foods and drinks. She knew the history behind the dishes and places and clearly got on well with the restaurant owners. A great way to find some out-of-the-way places to eat and to learn about the local food and drink.

We were a tour group of 2. This was supposed to be a food and drink tour but the drinking part was lacking, only 1 glass of wine. That said, the food was delicious and we did not leave hungry. Our “private” guide, Rafael, more than made up for the lack of liquor with his stories and insights.

The description did not say it was a $500 taxi ride to the meeting location. Had I known, I would have never booked this event. I sent a message to the vendor and never heard back. I went online chat w you and asked for a 50 percent credit which I think is fair.

Good morning, both in the description and in the title of the experience it is indicated that the tour takes place in Florence. If you are in Florence, there is no cost to reach the meeting point. Clearly, if you are in Rome or another city, there is a cost to reach Florence. Unfortunately in this case it is clear that you have not read the location of the experience correctly.

Guide was pleasant as were other guests. Pasta was delicious. Guide didn't seem to have much food knowledge and shared little about the city either. Foods sampled: wine, pasta (choice of two), poor man's soups, sandwiches and gelato. Without breaking the bank, we could have sampled one portion of Florentine steak and lampredotto for the whole group (12 of us) given these are quintessential foods to try here. Not impressed and would not recommend.

Our guide was Rapheal. If you like food and want to learn about Florence while eating great food and drinking great wine, you must do this tour! Rapheal is entertaining and teaches you about the wine and food and the area it comes from. Plus, the portions are substantial so come hungry. We did with our young adult kids and they enjoyed as well. I highly recommend this tour.
