What To Expect

This private Tuscany day trip provides convenient pickup from anywhere in downtown Florence, making getting started as easy as possible. On the day of your tour, get picked up in a luxury minivan and prepare for a great introduction to the Chianti wine region, Siena, and San Gimignano.

This private trip is tailored for your group alone, providing an intimate exploration of some of the most famed parts of Tuscany.

After pickup, head to Siena, where you visit local landmarks such as the Piazza del Campo, home of the famous Palio, and the Siena Cathedral. Explore the town’s medieval streets, taste local food, and shop for gifts (own expense).

Continue along the famous Chianti Wine Road to the lovely hill town of San Gimignano, where you spend about two hours exploring the historic center before returning to Florence.

If you choose the option with a winery lunch, you’ll stop to taste wines and local food products, but will have less time to explore other destinations on the itinerary.

EVERYTHING! The ride was incredible with Massimo who was the most amazing driver and kindest gentleman. He described the sites and brought us to take pictures as an added bonus at the most gorgeous vistas. If I could rate this a 10 I would. Our day trip to Siena, San Gimignano and a winery tour and lunch was exactly the experience that one would hope to have while visiting Tuscany. Michele, our driver and guide for the day met us at our hotel in Florence (15 minutes early 😄) in a beautiful and new Mercedes van. Michele was a very charming, personable, and knowledgeable guide. His English was very good and he brought the perfect blend of historical knowledge and passion for the Tuscan countryside. He provided us with an overview of each of the towns we were to visit and ensured that we would visit all the most interesting spots. He gave us sufficient time to explore each town so that we never felt rushed. As much as we enjoyed visiting Siena and San Gimignano, the absolute highlight was our tour and lunch at the Poggio Amorelli winery. It was right out of a movie. What ann incredible experience. After concluding our day long tour of the Tuscan region, Michele dropped us to the train station in Florence for the next segment of our vacation and ensured that we knew what to expect when arriving at the train station and when we got to Venice. We really felt well looked after the entire day. A first rate experience.

A great hassle free way to reach the towns of Sienna and San Gimignano with pickup and return to your hotel. Time to explore each town on your own. An option for lunch at own cost at a winery if you wish but we just had lunch in San Gimignano. You are just paying for a driver not a tour guide but our driver did answer any questions we had and did point out a few things on our drive.

Spending time walking the streets of the towns we toured were very enjoyable. The driver was prompt and courteous. My issue is the tour is extremely overpriced. Although the driver was very polite and courteous, that is essentially all he was... a driver. US$714 is an extreme amount to pay for a driver for 7 hours.

Great day. Massimo our driver was really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Stopped at Piazzale Michelangelo on the way out of Florence for a great vista and photos. Then to Siena where he pointed out the highlights and recommendations and then we explored on our own and had lunch. Then to San Gimigniano for some exploration, and ended at Casa Ella winery for a great tour and tasting. One of our favorite tours ever!

Oh my stars!!!! This was the best day we’ve had. Driver (Mike) was early and greeted us, so welcoming and educational, it rained our day and he made adjustments to make sure we were able to see it all. A fascinating outing

Our tour today with Marco was very enjoyable. Siena and especially San Gimignano seemed almost untouched since the Middle Ages, and the absence of cars adds to the atmosphere. The cathedral in Siena was elaborate and well worth the visit, and the winery where we stopped for a tasting and meal was equally atmospheric since it was sited in an Etruscan tomb hewn into stone. Marco was prompt in picking us up, and he knew so much about both Florence snd the Siena areas, answering all our many questions and pointing out things we might have missed on the drive. I’m glad to the taken this excursion.
