Overview

Get into the gorgeous waters of Kauai and see marine life while you’re on this snorkeling adventure with a sea scooter to move you along. Full use of the snorkel equipment is included, and you’ll also be briefed about the best places to see the fish, and given a map. The creatures you very well could encounter included green sea turtles and the Hawaiian state fish, the Humuhumu-Nuknuk-Apua’a.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Good company

Unfortunately we weren’t able to snorkel because of storms, but the company quickly refunded us. We’ll work with them next time we’re on the island.

Not safe

Worse excursion that our group had ever tried to do. The water was so rough that we couldn’t even try to snorkel. The area we were sent to snorkel was so rocky you couldn’t even get into water safely. We called and were told unless the life guards said it was too rough we were basically out of luck. We were only told one place to go and at this beach we saw a guy get pulled under the water and they had to have an ambulance come and administer first aid. No way were we going to get into the water as we did not feel safe. We had asked before we went out and assured it was safe. Would definitely not recommend doing this excursion what a waste of money!

Aloha We appreciate your review and we understand that snorkeling on Hawaii is not for everyone. If you did not feel safe, than you made the right decision for yourself. The beach you went to is one of Kauai's safest beaches with life guards on duty and a beautiful reef protecting the shoreline. You are right the reef comes all the way up to the shoreline, since the islands were all once formed from lava, however there is sandy areas where it is safe to enter and we point those locations out to you in detail. When you called to complain, I immediately checked the beach cameras and informed you that the scene you were describing was not what I was seeing on the cameras. There were plenty of people swimming, playing, and snorkeling. When we hung up I called the Activity booth on the beach and they too said the waters were safe. If the county of Kauai had deemed the waters unsafe the life guards would have told everyone to get out of the water and closed the beach, but this did not happen. Unfortunately, this was not a great activity for your group, but the other group that was out snorkeling had a wonderful time per their review.

Find another snorkel adventure - not worth the money.

Great customer service, however, it was very overpriced for what we received. Basically, it’s a scooter rental and two maps that are given to you. You are the one taking yourself on a snorkel adventure with no real insight. Just given two maps, boundaries, and you’re off! I would not do this again. I would much rather do an actual snorkel excursion tour and see some amazing sights. We only saw tiny fish and some sea cucumbers. Not great and don’t recommend.

Mahalo for the Review! Sorry we did not meet your expectation. Unfortunately, we can not control where the sea life will be at any give time. We do not provide guided tours, which is clearly stated on the booking inclusion page. Snorkeling with a sea scooters is not for everyone. Our adventures with a Sea Scooter allows you to explore the ocean at your own pace without the hassle of being rushed by a tour guide.

We had a great time snorkeling. The equipment was high quality and worked well. The only problem we had was that when we got to the beach we were short one set of flippers. But we made the best of it and got to see sea turtles, lots of different corals and fish. I would highly recommend it, it was definitely a highlight on our trip.

Great for families with older kids and couples!

We didn’t realize that we wouldn’t have an actual tour guide. We went with kids ages 10-13 and while the older kids loved the sea scooters, the little ones struggled a bit with theirs. It was a little overpriced for having to put in the work to find the beaches with the maps given and navigating the crowds.. I believe this would be wonderful for couples and families with older children. If you know the island well and are able to find those hidden beaches, then this is perfect!

Amazing. This was so much fun . Made snorkling even better. We zoomed all over with these super light easy to use buggies. The girl was amazing with so much info . Everyone should do this it's worth every penny.

Very fun, good for beginners

Was a very fun experience, and we did see the turtles. The north shore location is a bit shallow so might not be for you if you like diving a little. The organizer was very nice and helpful. There is an option to rent a go pro that attaches to your equipment if you want to capture your adventure. Self directed so you should prepare and look ahead of time for locations you might enjoy. Beautiful 45 min drive to the north shore, make sure you have a way to get there. Would do again, maybe try the other location next time.

Snorkel adventure

Experiencing the sea life up close makes you feel like you're in an aquarium. Cutting through the water with the motorized water scooter gives a feeling of freedom as well as a big help in the swells.

Scooters were fun!

The water temps were perfect. Didn’t see many fish. There were 2 seals swimming in the area. That was pretty cool. It was a little rough getting out into deeper waters and the rocks presented a bit of a problem. Falling on them was not fun. I prefer jumping into a snorkeling spot from a boat. All in all, the scooters were pretty fun and it definitely guided you along faster than swimming. I think this is really good for the younger, more agile person.

Waste of money

You can go to target and buy a snorkeling set for way cheaper and it’s yours to keep. The scooters are ok but mine didn’t even last an hour!!!
