Great fun hour in Kyoto

Really fun hour to spend in Kyoto. Our guide was great, having the perfect balance of informative and fun. You don't get overwhelmed with information and it's much more accessible than most of the bigger museums.

The good is that the host had great energy and made the ~1/2 hour experience very fun, along w/ the plastic shuriken throwing contest. The add'l place (not at the same place as the museum) where you can dress up for photos was a nice touch. However the museum is very very small and there are not a lot of things to look at and you don't get a lot of time to look at them.

The ninja and samurai museum was a blast! We learned so much interesting information and our guide was knowledgeable and fun and kept the crowd engaged. Everyone also had a blast throwing ninja stars and trying on the samurai outfits.

Would of been OK if we could actually hear the guide. The place is far too small for the amount of groups going through. It just felt like they were there to line their pockets and not give much in return. The place is quite old and run down as well.

First, it took quite some time to find the place! ;) Friendly, experienced and knowledgeable guides. Beautiful historical exhibits (swords, armor etc.) and the last, but not least - shuriken throwing and wearing the samurai armor!

Ninja was fun

The experience was amazing, the lead tour guide was cheerful and explains the story of Samurai fully well. However, it's hard to understand the tour guide when there were kids that was crying and screaming, it was really distracting. Half way through, I just want to end the tour. The ninja experience was fun. I didn't go at the end for the samurai costume, it was tiring at the end and I have to go to another site for the samurai experience, and just can't be bothered after all the screaming.

Good presentation in good english by the museum guide, she had alot of good information if you want to learn something new. My bad rating is because of the facility, very cramped if there are lot of people. And please, dont be the typical American tourist. Have your children behave and you dont have to be the senter og attention when going to a museum tour. That kind of ruined our experience.
