What To Expect

Leave the city for a scenic, 33-mile (53-km) drive through the desert on your way to the Hoover Dam. Learn about the dam workers who lived in Boulder City in the early 1930s, and get views across Lake Mead, the second-largest manmade lake in the Western Hemisphere.

You’ll cross over the top of the dam, then pause for 15 to 20 minutes at the Arizona Lookout, which offers a great perspective on the entire dam area, including the Bypass Bridge.

You’ll have some free time to shop or visit the Hoover Dam restaurant, then begin the return trip to Las Vegas, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Hoover Damp in a stove bus.

The bus used to take us to the Hoover Damp had a malfunction with the A/C and apparently the driver did not knew how to have it work. The heat inside the bus was inhumane. The later the A/C began to work but the driver insisted on having his window down, making the situation even worst.

Great tour! Bill our tour guide/driver was awesome. He had so much information about the dam and Las Vegas. Bus picks you up from your hotel and the trip takes around 5 hours. Breakfast was provided and it was very good.

After getting off to an inauspicious start with the driver leaving us as we were unseen behind bigger buses, the trip was great. The driver Bill, came back and picked us up and off we all went. I previously went on a Hoover Dam tour and took this one because I had people with me who had not been. Let me tell you this is the best tour to take. Bill was very knowledgeable and took us not only to Hoover Dam but to Boulder City where the people who worked on the Hoover Dam lived. He showed us some of the houses that were still standing and the history of the area. This was ten times better than the last one we attended. He took us through the section on the way there and when asked could he take us back the same way he did. He also took us to an area where we were able to get beautiful shots of Lake Mead, this was on the other side of the dam. We saw people on the lake but you could also see how the dam has decreased in volume over the years. The view was beautiful. I would recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys learning about how things were developed in the past. This was a great History lesson.

Loved the fact that we toured together as a family. Our guide Bill was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The only thing that was upsetting was the fact that the tour company told us the wrong pick up time. They told us 6:40am so we woke up and hurried thru our hotel to get to pick up spot on time. When they didn't show after 15 minutes I was quite concerned and they didn't answer the phone the first time we called. Finally got in touch and they told us that the driver would be there asap. We were picked up at 7:30. We could've slept in longer or gotten coffee at least.

Three dam is a marvel of human engineering! We enjoyed learning the history of the dam as well as the tour of the inner workings. The surrounding scenery is simply gorgeous. Our guide was so knowledgeable... i only wish we could have heard him a little better. A memorable excursion- thank you!
