We booked a Shared Experience to Xochimilco, meaning we'd share a trajinera with others. It was so much fun! Our driver Uriel picked us up right at our Air BnB and he was incredible. He was a wealth of knowledge. The experience itself was a blast and well worth the price. I would highly recommend.
I wish I can give more than 5 stars!!!

This was hands down the best part of our girls trip to Mexico City! Misael picked us up on time and also allowed to extend our time on the boat! He is such a great human being and taught us a lot about the history of Xochimilco! The food and drinks were also AWESOME! You definitely have to book this trip with Misael! Thank you for everything Misael!!!!

Our guides were lovely. The tour was really fun. Xochimilco was very interesting, quite beautiful. We enjoyed our private boat trip and the lunch and drinks. We were also treated to a tour of the university. It was a great day.
Great way to see the history of Mexico City

The enchiladas on the boat ride. They were delicious. Also, really enjoyed the gift shopping. Bought friends and family cultural gifts.
Fun family Xochimilco experience.

We celebrated a teen birthday on this Xochimilco experience, and it was a lot of fun! The mariachi music was really good and the food was delicious!
Xochimilco

Very touristy experience. Way too many boats allowed for the space, our boatman spent more time waiting for jams to clear rather than poleing. Reminded me of traffic in any major city. Mariachi music was good. The guides were pleasant. Food average.

Hemos platicado con nuestro staff y entendemos que todo estuvo bien dentro del servicio. Tú inconformidad es con la multitud de personas que visitan Xochimilco. Lamentamos que así sea y eso es parte de la esencia de un lugar tan turístico.
Enjoyable Tour But Not Totally As Advertised
Kris_R, Jan 2024
It was nice to experience some of Mexico City’s authentic local culture and history, but was not totally what was advertised. We booked a private tour with an English-speaking guide and transportation from our hotel. Our guide picked us up at our hotel - he was extremely kind and hospitable but struggled with English. We used a combination of his limited English and our limited Spanish to enjoy the day, but it definitely inhibited our ability to learn about Xochimilco. In addition, I had done research of other tours, many which seem like party boats. I intentionally booked a private tour so we wouldn’t have a party boat and could learn history. When we arrived to Xochimilco, we saw that our tour was not private (neither a crammed party boat nor a completely private tour, but a small group tour nonetheless). Overall it was a nice day and we enjoyed ourselves but not completely what we expected. Everyone was very kind and hospitable.

Lamentamos mucho que no fuera de su agrado la experiencia. Trataremos de mejorar.
Xochimilco is a tourist trap
Jodee_M, Dec 2023
I think we went into this trip thinking it would be about more of the history of Mexico City but found Xochimilco to be excessively commercial with in authentic boats, boat traffic and vendors hawking their wares everywhere. Our driver and guide was wonderful but the boat tour itself was not.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Lamentamos que no fuera la experiencia que estaban buscando, nos pusimos en contacto con el equipo de trabajo. Xochimilco es el lugar turístico y esa es parte de su esencia.
Misael was an excellent...

Misael was an excellent guide. He made everything fun and explained the importance of Xochimulco and other sites along the drive. Thanks, Misael!
Mexico Trip 2023
Venilda_P, May 2023
The boat ride was fun, my friends and I enjoyed it. The trajinero was a young man who enjoyed his work, the driver we got, even if he does not speak English, was able to understand me and my limited knowledge of the Spanish language. My friends and I enjoyed the boat Xochimilco experience and I will recommend it to friends who will come and visit the City.
A cultural must try in Mexico City
Supriya_k, May 2023
This was worth the price. We got picked up in a comfortable SUV from our Airbnb and got dropped off at the end so we did not have to worry about the traffic, uber etc and could just enjoy the experience. You can purchase snacks and drinks before hand because the prices at the canal are a little pricey but even then it was a memorable experience drifting along the canal on multicolored boats with music playing and drinks and food available. Our guide was very informative and we learnt a lot about what we were doing along the way.
Best Way to See a Ton of Mexico City
Tony_L, Apr 2022
I went to CDMX by myself, not knowing really much of anything about the city, so I wanted to make sure I was learning things instead of just seeing things. I couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one I had with Misael and Arturo. They were prompt, super knowledgeable, and just fun to hang out with. Arturo seriously has an unbelievable understanding of not only Mexico City but of broader politics, religious influence, and history. I think there are few people—even in a city that huge—who would be better equipped to lead a tour than he was, AND he was cool enough that we could also just chill on the boat in Xochimilco and put back a couple beers and tacos. I think anybody would have a great time with these two, but if you actually want to learn something about Mexico City and not just go shopping in Coyoacan, these are 100% your guys. Can't recommend them highly enough.
