It was a small group but...

It was a small group but most of the group spoke Spanish. The guide tried very hard but he couldn’t really do what we had at Pompeii with an English only tour. Not his fault. If it had been clear that it was not an English only tour I would have chosen another option.

Tour guide very knowledgeable. This is a good tour if you already did Pompeii or you just want a shorter less physically demanding tour. The driver managed the heavy traffic well. We had to be back to the ship by 6:30 and we were back in plenty of time.

a great half day trip into the past

a very convenient way to see the highlights of Herculaneum : a short drive from central Naples, no need to queue for tickets, and a guided tour of the museum and archaeological site by English-speaking Raphael : Herculaneum attracts fewer tourists than Pompeii but the site is more compact and the buildings better preserved : our tour was conducted at a pleasant pace and we weren’t competing with crowds of people

Not worth the price because we are rushed through Ercolano, the tour lasts 1.5 hours only!

The tour is too short, 1.5 hours is not enough to visit Herculaneum (Ercolano). The price charged by Viator for such a short activity is too high.

Worth a visit but our guide was difficult to follow

Unfortunately our tour was late leaving Rome due to a no-show. Our tour guide was friendly but because he was accommodating two separate groups simultaneously (English and Spanish) it was difficult to follow. He spoke very quickly and didn’t always give context…the narrative didn’t follow a storyline. He was clearly passionate about the site and how it’s (better) different to Pompeii. The site is worth a visit but I was disappointed with the tour.

A very wet day at Herculanium

Not our day really, collection point was changed twice, it poured with rain for the whole visit and the guide, who worked incredibly hard, had to tell the story in English, Spanish and Italian. The site was fascinating and definitely worth visiting

We were never picked up to start the tour despite confirming with other guides from the same provider we were in the correct meeting place and one of the other guides confirmed to our theoretical guide we were there and waiting. Later we were told by email that they had tried to call us and we were therefore a no show! Totally unacceptable and unprofessional! Still waiting for a refund!

We toured with Nancy she was excellent and informative. The location was interesting. We did sit on the van for quite some time before proceeding to the destination which wasn’t explained by Tour leader Maria. But the tour was well worth it and the pick up was convenient and on time.

Started out a bit rough as we were told to wait at a bus stop at a piazza., but there were 3 bus stops. Then the guide was late, which worried us. However, she contacted us via whats app an said she was running late. This allowed us to walk across the street to get coffee to go, and she Mt us there. The tour itself was good. Lots of great information. We did miss seeing the preserved bones because our guide asked and was told it was closed, however, there were many tourists in that area. We did miss this. Also, our guide had to rush off to do her next tour. We got our full time and the tour was great, I think there is not enough time for the guides between tours, which must be difficult for them.

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Our guide Alessio was so knowledgeable and informative. We signed up for a "small group" and there were only five in our group, which was wonderful. Alessio taught us so much and was able to answer all of our questions. Definitely a great tour!

Alessio, our guide, met us at the cruise dock in Naples. It is a chaotic place, but we managed to find each other. We were pleasantly surprised to find our tour was with just 3 other people. Alessio was interesting and informative, spoke excellent English, and made our visit to Herculaneum very worthwhile.

The tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. There were only four of us on the tour so that made it very interactive and enjoyable. The tour length, at about 90 minutes was also good - enough to see most things without getting too tired or distracted. The only downside was the pickup - which was 45 minutes late

Really interesting visit with a super guide Nancy. My only complaint was waiting 10mins in torrential rain for our driver to re-appear. Surely this should have been easily co-ordinated?
