What To Expect

Beer lovers, prepare to set sail on a memorable and tasty New York adventure. Make your way to the port at Battery Park to board the 158-foot-long (48-meter) Clipper City. With room for 150 passengers, the replica tall ship is among the largest ceiling vessels in the United States and is modeled after the giant lumber schooners of the 19th century.

Settle in among the many seats or on the wraparound deck as the ship cruises around New York Harbor. Take in unbeatable views of the sights that have welcomed many a seafarer throughout the years, including the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and city skyscrapers.

Savor onboard tastings of six different craft beers locally produced in New York. You might just find your new favorite among the ales and lagers hand-picked from breweries like the Empire Brewing Company, Southampton Publick House, KelSo of Brooklyn, Fire Island Beer Company, Lake Placid Brewery, and Keegan Ales. Beer is paired with artisan cheeses, charcuterie, and nuts from a gourmet Brooklyn deli.

At the end of the cruise, set foot back on solid ground when the ship docks at Battery Park.

Great Cruise

We were in NYC for a wedding with family and had booked a trip on another Viator cruise. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected mechanical issue with that particular boat, if you've ever owned a boat you will understand those things happen. The owner called to inform me that we did not just have a problem, but we had a problem with a solution. He was able to switch us over to another cruise option that same day, or we had several options for the next day. We ended up taking a fantastic sunset cruise a little later than planned that same day. The crew was awesome, great boat, great service, great weather, great times with family. Highly recommend!

We had a really good time on this tour. I did not expect the beer samples to be as large as they were, and the staff on the boat were friendly and helpful. It appeared you could have more than one sample of each beer if you wanted it. The tapas-type snacks were plentiful and well-presented. There is not a lot of seating on the boat, but it seemed like there were always seats available - it appeared most people preferred to stand and socialize. We had good weather so that was a bonus - might not be quite so much fun in the rain as there is little shelter on the deck. You can get some great photos of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline from the boat. All in all, I would recommend this tour as it is a lot of fun, whether or not you like beer.

The sailing cruise was good, but the beer tasting.......well, we ended up throwing the beers overboard, they were terrible, and we didn't fancy any of the snacks!!! Also, not enough seating for all.

A fantastic afternoon in NYC! I did the craft beer sail and enjoyed everything about the experience.The atmosphere on board was relaxed and the tall ship very spacious. The beer tasting was both fun and informative and there was guided commentary both about the beers we tasted and the sights we sailed past. I would definitely recommend this trip if you are in Manhattan on a summer's weekend.

We had a GREAT time on the sailing tour around NYC. At first, after booking the tour, I received a call that the tour was overbooked. We were extremely disappointed at first. However, Tom (owner?) got on the phone and took care of us. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to enjoy a nice afteroon around NYC and enjoying local beers.
