    The boat departs from Chelsea Piers, at Pier 62, which is located at the northern end of the Chelsea Piers Complex. Our ticket booth is located on the water just steps from our dock. Please check in at the Classic Harbor Line ticket booth upon arrival.

What To Expect

Begin your morning sail by setting off from the Chelsea Piers onboard the historic Schooner Adirondack, a pilot schooner dating from the 1890s.

The ship heads north along the Hudson River to first take in spectacular views of New York City’s Upper West Side before sailing under the George Washington Bridge to leave the city behind for the scenic countryside.

Sip complimentary hot chocolate or sodea, beer, wine, or champagne while taking in the colorful landscapes along the banks of the river as far as the Palisade Cliffs, just north of Fort Lee, New Jersey. Be sure to bundle up, as the autumn breezes can be nippy on the river.

There’s time to relax, enjoy a picnic lunch (passengers need to provide their own lunches), and snap pictures of these dramatic cliffs—one of the most striking geological features outside New York City—before heading back to the city.

  • Dress for the weather - bring lots of layers, hats, gloves and scarves depending on the weather

  • Please let us know in advance if assistance is required for boarding
  • Peak fall foliage is not guaranteed. We have seen fall colors at their peak as early as mid-October and as late early December along the waterfront in the Palisades of New Jersey (the prime destination of our fall foliage excursions). Refunds due to ‘lack of color’, will not be honored. Cruising on the Hudson River, north by the Palisades, is a unique and interesting route and is the declared value of this excursion.
  • Groups of 10 or more will be contacted by the operator in advance for an additional 10% group gratuity
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 49 travelers

      Great crew, friendly and helpful. Blankets kept us cosy and warm. Beautiful views of NYC skyline. Trip quite long enough.

      I was initially imagining going farther upriver but obviously being under sail power it took us more than half the time just to get a short ways past the GWB. Still a very pleasant trip. I was very impressed by the crew, they were not only good at their jobs but pleasant to be around.

      It was a nice ride.but forc3.5 hrs they should go further up in the Hudson River. The boat stopped n zip zag too much at the same place

      My wife and I spent a lovely Fall day onboard the schooner Adirondack with our Captain Kat and Becks. They and the crew were friendly, engaging and knowledgeable about our sailing experience on the Hudson. We recommend them highly!!! 😃
      Solid boat and crew but mediocre experience

      The boat was beautiful and the crew friendly but unfortunately there just wasn’t enough wind and we motored for a lot of the trip. While the journey was long we didn’t cover much actual distance and barely made it out of the city to view any actual foliage. I would recommend but you have to set expectations.
