What To Expect

Leave Paris for a full-day tour of two of the most popular day trip destinations outside the French capital, Louis XIV's Palace of Versailles and Monet's garden in Giverny.

Your first stop is Giverny, where Impressionist master Claude Monet lived from 1883 until his death in 1926. Walk across the Japanese bridge and gaze upon the water lily pond while you stroll the gardens that surround his former home. This picturesque landscape was the inspiration for many of his most famous paintings, including the Nymphéas series.

After a guided tour of Monet's gardens, it's time for a hearty lunch at the Moulin de Fourges. This 18th-century mill, inspired by the Queen's Hamlet, has been transformed into a restaurant and inn. From there, continue by coach to Versailles.

The opulent décor at the Palace of Versailles—once the extravagant home of King Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette—includes the Hall of Mirrors and the Royal Grand Apartments. On your guided tour, try to imagine daily life for the royal family. Then enjoy some free time in the World Heritage-listed Versailles Gardens and wander among the groves, sculptures, and fountains. On particular days, from April to October, they are part of a musical Fountains Show; if you're lucky you'll see this special display (cost included), set to the tunes of Louis XIV's era, before your day trip concludes with travel back to Paris.

We really enjoyed our visit to Giverny and our nice lunch. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. The Versailles portion felt very rushed and of course was very crowded. Still the tour guide was exceptional.

Don't bother booking this rush job tour
MaryAnn_A, May 2024
The Monet garden was lovely. But felt rushed the entire time. Long bathroom line & long gift shop lines and rush to the bus did not allow time to see the home. Lunch was in a lovely setting but again rushed.,did not get to finish or have coffee in a rush to get to the bus. Was promised free time at the Louvre for the garden but no time left.. long wait to get in. In @ 1520...had to rush to the bus @ 1650. Did not deliver as promised. Thar tour could have been lovely...but not nearly enough time to enjoy the experience.
Great Trip!!

It was such a wonderful trip with amazing tour guides! They took us out to an amazing lunch. We wished we could’ve had just a bit more time to explore the gardens at the Palace of Versailles.
Delightful Suprise

Delicious meal, nice accommodations and very helpful and friendly service. Enjoyed meeting fellow passengers in a relaxed atmosphere.
Could not hear guide for guided tour.
Victoria_M, Apr 2024
I would have given a five rating for this tour but the tour guide was not the best. The itinerary, the bus and the lunch were excellent. Sadly, we paid for a guided tour but could not hear the guide. Her Vox box did not work and of the 12 people on the tour, she only spoke loud enough for the two people directly in front of her to hear.
The morning started at...
Carol_L, Apr 2024
The morning started at Monet's House and Water Garden in Giverny before a light lunch with wines (red/white) and Kir on the way to Versailles. The meal was okay, but not a highlight of the trip. The afternoon was spent at Versailles with a bit of time to explore the gardens independently. Guide Julien was good and provided a good overview of what we were going to see and experience. Dropped off around 6pm. Pick-up/drop-off location is very close to the Eiffel Tower.
Great way to get through the throngs at 2 overbooked sites

Our guide did a great job getting us to Giverny before the crowds. Versailles was overcrowded as expected and she did a great up job getting us through the mess with some great commentary. Lunch at the old mill hotel was lovely, but a bit too long. I think folks would have enjoyed more time at either G or V than sitting at lunch.
Fantastic combo tour!
Donna_A, Apr 2024
Our guide, Amelia (Emilia?) was fantastic. Efficient, full of knowledge, and did her best to make sure we saw everything! The tour was part guided (Monet gardens and inside Versailles palace as well as lots of info while on the bus) then we had free time to explore Monet’s house, more of his gardens, and the Versailles gardens. Highly recommend!
Beautiful locations marred by a rude guide.
Karen_C, Apr 2024
The two stops, Monet’s home and Gardens and Palace of Versailles were amazing. However, the guide Andre was less than helpful at times rude. He rushed us through the gardens so he could drop us at the house to tour on our own. I would have preferred to be left at our own will. All he did was offer a small amount of info. He rushed everyone and truly was a negative impact to the experience.
Insufficient tour information and bad food.
Hilarie_P, Apr 2024
The food and service at the lunch spot were terrible. Rubber chicken with no flavor. A fish terrine that was already sitting out at our places when we arrived. Service was terse and rude. The guides were not very informative at all. In addition, their microphones produced static for those of us on the back of the bus. We couldn't hear what they were saying on the way to Giverny. Just shared little tidbits of info on site. Would have been better off using the audio guide from Versailles. Not worth the cost.
Don’t miss this your!

The Monet house and gardens were spectacular! Versailles was pure opulence, and lunch was quite a delicious find! Manuela our guide was warm and wonderful!
Special day at Giverny and Versailles
AnnMarie_W, Apr 2024
Excellent, knowledgeable guide for both Giverny and Versailles. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in a lovely special events venue in a small village.
We would 100% recommend this tour!
Nichola_J, Apr 2024
5 stars because (1) our tour guide Steve was great! He was knowledgeable about the locations, funny, friendly and helpful. He made the day for us! (2) the lunch. We were expecting something like a bag lunch but instead we got a delicious sit-down meal at a gorgeous restaurant. Food & wine were both superb and even the picky eaters in my family enjoyed it. (3) we went straight in to both locations - no waiting around in long lines. That alone is worth the $$.
Book with another tour company.
Julanne_W, Apr 2024
The tour guide was not very informative at Giverny and basically stopped providing information about 15 minutes into the stop. Other tour guides were leading their groups through the gardens and house. Versailles was a little better. Book through a different company. Lots of them were giving more informative tours.
Perfect dual day trip!
Cheryl_R, Mar 2024
Best experience in our week trip to France! The tour guides were wonderful; Monet’s gardens gorgeous - you can see yourself in his paintings!! Lunch was delicious and elegant. The guide’s understanding and knowlege of Versailles was amazing and made the trip special.
Missed the bus, request a refund.
Christina_C, Dec 2023
We missed the bus, was told the tour went to Versailles, arrived at Versailles to find the tour had firstly gone to Giverny I wish to request a refund.
Beware of overcharging
Leigh_C, Nov 2023
We were overcharged significantly when we received our credit card bill ($400 over for two ppl!) BEWARE of fraudulent charges. We've requested a partial refund so hopefully they will do the right thing. The guide was difficult to understand partly due to his thick eastern European accent and the crappy earphones. It's a very long day. I suggest breaking up Monet and Versailles tours. We had only 10 mins to explore Versailles gardens... that was disappointing.
Amazing trip!

Great experience from checking in for our tour, kind bus driver and our knowledgeable & witty guide. Wonderful opportunity, highly recommend
Heavenly Giverny and Versailles
Lisa_S, Oct 2023
A truly delightful day of much beauty Julian was a fabulous guide , relaxed friendly and very knowledgeable . Nadia the bus driver was the best driver we've had on the whole of Europe ! So glad we saw the gardens before they closed for the winter . Would highly recommend this tour
A long but wonderful day
Philip_H, Oct 2023
Clare's lively and informative commentary and skillful management of the group really made this very full day a wonderful experience. The bus was modern and comfortable and our driver was very smooth and efficient. Both destinations were so interesting in their way and the relaxing 3 course lunch in between was a welcome break and an added extra.
Great tour compacting a lot into one day
Hanlie_E, Oct 2023
Easy instructions to find the pick-up spots at every visit. Lovely bus ride. Guide very friendly and great insights/suggestions. Great with kids (7yo). Lunch was lovely. Highly recommend.
