Come aboard the Privateer, your sailboat for the evening, for a a scenic cruise along the San Francisco Bay. As you set off on the water, you'll enjoy sightseeing at the most beautiful time of day—sunset. Departure Point: Pier 39 Address: Dock F Directions: Arrive 15 minutes prior to your departure time or you might miss the boat. The boat does not wait for late shows. Go to Pier 39 Dock F gate and wait until the First Mate comes and takes you to the boat. Dock F is located on the east side of Pier 39 which is the same side as the Aquarium of the Bay. Walk down between the Aquarium and Hard Rock Cafe toward the boat until you get to Dock F. Dates: Daily Return point: Returns to original departure point

What To Expect

Meet your captain and first mate at Pier 39 in the early evening for a relaxing cruise on the San Francisco Bay. Get checked in and board the Privateer, your sailboat for the evening. As you go, you'll enjoy two complimentary alcohohlic or soft drinks.

Set sail and journey out past Alcatraz and Angel Island on the calm waters where you can catch sunset views of the Bay Bridge from your vantage point. Your peaceful voyage continues as you get closer to Marin and Sausalito. The green landscape of Marin County and picturesque view of the city of Sausalito look stunning under the illumination from the setting sun.

Next up, see the iconic Golden Gate Bridge with a lovely red-orange sunset in the background—a prime time for photo ops. As you head back towards Pier 39, which is where your boat ride will end, take a look at how the San Francisco waterfront begins to light up and sparkle.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

This was a beautiful ride through the bay! We had 3 people on the boat for my time slot, so it was really nice having a small group for the experience (booked on a Wednesday evening). The crew had jackets and blankets ready for us, which was greatly appreciated as the temp dropped when we neared the bridge. The crew entertained with fun facts about the bridge and Alcatraz as we sailed along, which was very enjoyable. I’m very happy I booked this experience for my trip - it was the coolest Golden Gate experience I could’ve asked for!

Lovely way to see views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, the city and some wildlife. Very relaxing and memorable! Have done similar tours on Bayliners, but doing this on a sailboat with fewer people was amazing. Didn’t hurt that we had perfect weather for March!

Loved the fact that it was more personal and friendly with only a few on board.we didn't get to go under the golden gate bridge due to the weather but the expertise of our captain Michael we went in the opposite direction.still had Great views and Michael was very knowledgeable nice that we got drinks served by his first mate.. we sailed by wind power so it was nice relaxing with no engine noise.. we had a great time

Bucket list item for my mom! Excellent crew. Hit all the major items except the fog rolled in preventing us from seeing the sunset. It was a very cold ride but nice blankets were provided!

We really appreciated the Captain sharing information and insight about the history and traffic of the bay. It was fun joking with him and learning history and trivia. Saw a beautiful baby seal that seemed to be interested in our boat. Pelicans diving and soaring near us was majestic.

A big scam!

130 dollars for freezing 2 hours on a boat, not because we were under dressed because we had 5 layers plus 2 jackets that gave us. Wich we couldn’t care less then complimentary drink included. Still not worth the price. Bathroom so disgusting and dirty, I couldn’t even wash my hands in the sink because there were empty bottles. That’s a big big scam. I’ve seen later other similar tour with 1/3 of the price we paid. Very very disappointed. We feel our money were stolen.

Stella, The sunset sail is often chilly but always beautiful. Unfortunately we cannot control the weather. Some sails are colder than others. It’s sailing, every sail is different. I’m so sorry the bathroom was not cleaned we will discuss with the crew to see what happened there. Not sure why you feel your money was stolen. I took the best polaroids of my life this cruise was a small boat with a captain and an assistant, drinks were unlimited, it was very chill, the captain offered us a wet ride or a dry ride and we went the dry route, I never had to get up, they gave us jackets, wind breakers and blankets and took pictures, it was a great experience, they leave you on a really nice dock afterwards so we just grabbed dinner

The crew were great. The only downside side to this trip was it was cold and windy so it felt like we were on a 2 hour roller coaster. The views of the city from the boat were special especially under the bay bridge.
