Great tour!

This tour was a lot of fun! While it was a super crowded tour, there was the freedom to wander around as we pleased...with the understanding that we needed to be back at the boat on time in order not be left behind. I do wish they had allowed for a bit more time in Murano and Burano for more shopping and sight seeing.

What an amazing day! Definitely recommend this tour, which is a self-guided once on the islands. During the boat ride there is narration of what is being passed and what to expect on the islands. It's a good size group, but doable as we all walked at our own pace. The glass blowing on Murano was amazing and the shopping too much fun. Burano was fun with all the colorful homes and wonderful atmosphere with local vendors. And Torcello was a quaint island with a short walk to the church. A nice half day tour. Only negative is we would've liked more time on Burano, but it was enough to know we would go back on our own next time.

Missed trip, couldnt find the tour guide- did not refund money even though it was their fault

We could not find the tour guide for this trip and thus missed this trip. The booking said the meeting point was Riva degli Schiavoni, and we had a hard time finding this point, but finally arrived at a building named with this name like 15 mins before the trip was supposed to start. There was no guide to be found here, we tried asking around in neighboring shops but nobody was able to tell us anything, and the ladies at the waterbus booking counters were unfriendly and said they didn't know anything about this trip's tour guide or its meeting point. We couldn't understand what to do, and a lot of time was wasted in all this, so finally we called the contact number given in the booking. They said the guide already left as it is past the tour's starting point. I asked how could he leave without taking us, and they said we were not there at the meeting point. I said we were standing right under the building named Riva degli schiavoni and there was no guide there. They said something about the meeting point being mentioned in the booking, under a white umbrella or something, and that we should have checked the booking carefully. However, as seen in the photo I uploaded, the booking only says that the meeting point is Riva degli schiavoni and nothing else, and we were waiting at that exact point. Finally, after a long argument, they refused to refund our money even though we did not take the tour and it was their fault that they didnt mention the meeting point clearly in the booking.

Really bad experience

11 am tour start time is a lie! 11 am is when the boat disembarks. If you find the desk at 11:02 like I did, you're screwed. No refund either because apparently somewhere on page 62 of a downloadable voucher (and nowhere else) it says one I supposed to arrive 30 minutes prior to the tour start time. Such unbelievable contrast to literally every other tour I've taken! Do NOT recommend.

The meeting place was a long ways from where the boat was. The first boat we went to board backed away from the dock and left and then our guide found another boat for us to get on. At the first stop, we were told to be back to the boat at 12:45, at 12:44 they we already pulling away. Thankfully there was a second boat we were able to get on to get to the next island. The glass blowing demonstration was interesting and we enjoyed it. Overall, it seemed that each island was rushed. We could have skipped Torcello as we didn’t have much time and it is a long walk to reach the town. For the price, it was fine.

Poor organisation

The organisation at the meeting point was atrocious. After getting our tickets and waiting at the meeting point, a guide showed up and shouted to everyone her orders very quickly. Everyone then had to run after her to catch up. When we arrived at the boat, there was no order. People were just pushing and shoving to get on the boat. We just waited at the side until they had all got on. We then had to wait for a second boat as all the people who had pushed were prioritised. As we didn’t act like pigs, we were made to wait. The islands were lovely, but the overall management by the company would make me discouraged anyone from this group.

Very Chaotic

We booked this excursion through Viatour normally a reliable company that we have used many times. The entire trip was total chaos. We followed the directions to meet near St. Mark’s Square expecting a well organized process to get on the boat. There were over 100 people waiting there and we all ran through the crowds to the dock where the ferry was docked. It was Lord of the Flies to get a seat on the boat. The islands were very attractive, especially Burano, but you had to fight again to get on the boat in time to make the next island. Two passengers that we met were left behind on the last island. It is not worth it to book this through Viatour if you are expecting some protection from the tourist mobs.

The glass blowing demo was amazing! Spent ample time on each island and allowed to explore at our own pace was really nice. Burano is a great stop for lunch. Torchello has a beautiful church that you can visit as well if you have time.

Difficult to find check in, directions were not clear. Lack of communication to get to the ferry was further away from check in area—should have had someone follow us to the ferry. But once on ferry smooth ride and beautiful islands.

Not worth the extra cost

Just not worth the money. It’s a fairly long walk in the hot sun through the crowds following your ‘guide’ to the boat. Then another wait in the hot sun until you can board. It was crowded and only just enough seats. The only ‘tour’ part of this is a commentary on the way but it’s in 3 languages so frankly you just switch off. Not nearly enough time on Murano or Burano. You’d be much better off just booking the usual ferry, which is super easy, then you can spend time on the islands at your leisure. The whole mad dash back to the boat on time is stressful. I wish I hadn’t wasted my money and just bought my own tickets - we would have had a much better day.

A bit chaotic start as the meeting point was not by the boat itself. Trying to follow the guide through the crowds of tourists was not easy. The Murano glass factory was good, we enjoyed the presentation. Burano island is also very pretty. We had just enough time on each island. Torchello was quite boring as there really isn’t anything there If you want to see islands then pick a short trip with only the first two.

we thought we save time by going with a private guided trip - there was no guidance. The boat was more than full - about 200 people. You waist time as it takes long to embark and debark 200 people at 3 islands. We would have had more time on the islands when we would have taken the public boat.
