The UNESCO-listed village of Pienza was little more than a sleepy Tuscan hamlet until the 15th-century reign of Pope Pius II. The pontiff enlisted the help of architect Bernardo Rossellino to transform his hometown village (previously called Corsignano) into an ideal Renaissance city full of stunning architecture.
What a wonderful experience to visit wineries in Montalcino and Montepulciano, with a stop in Pienza to explore, shop, and have a delicious lunch. We learned a lot about wines from these regions.
Our family LOVED this tour!! The towns we stopped at were amazing! Lunch was great and the winery was wonderful. Most of all, Elio was the best tour guide ever! Thanks, Elio for making the tour more fun than we could have imagined and a great memory of our first trip to Italy! I can speak for the whole family when I say I would definitely recommend this tour!!
Wonderful day with our guide, Georgia. She has a wealth of knowledge and fabulous sense of humour. Made our day informative and fun! Can’t recommend this tour enough!
We couldn’t ask for a better guide than Matteo. His knowledge of the area, wine making, punctuality, and kindness made us feel at ease and provided for a really enjoyable experience.
This tour was truly the highlight of our entire trip to Italy. Our tour guide, Luca was fun, knowledgeable and we never felt rushed. The two wineries tours were fantastic and the lunch in Pienza was motto bene, with breathtaking views of Tuscana. Worth every penny!
A great, relaxing way to see Tuscany. Worth every penny.
We considered renting a car for the day, but glad we took the tour instead. Able to visit 3 hilltowns, learn the history of the area and enjoy a fantastic lunch. This was true lt a small group experience with an interesting group of people. Julianna, our guide, was well informed and fun.
Excellent wineries and lunch with a spectacular view1
This was an excellent tour of two outstanding wineries in Montalcino and Montalpucioano. We learned so much about the wine making process from the 2 wineries we visited. In between the wineries, we stopped in Pienze for a little shopping and a spectacular lunch with a beautiful view. My only wish was that we got to spend more time in Pienze walking around. I would highly recommend this tour!
We really enjoyed our tour with Anna to the winery, Pienza and Montepulciano. The amount of free time to explore the towns was appreciated. The tour bus was comfortable and clean, and the driver was excellent. Anna was informative and friendly and her English was good. We learned new things about Brunello wines at the winery. It was a very pleasant day and we’re glad we took the tour.
