St. Mark's Basilica can be subject to unforeseen closures due to particular liturgical celebrations. In the case in which the basilica is closed, we will give you explanations from the outside.
Please note that lunch is not included on this tour. We have allowed time for you to eat lunch between the AM and PM tours. Your guide will give you recommendations and tell you where to meet after lunch but please be aware that it is your responsibility to arrive at the meeting point in time for your PM tour.
The prisons and the armory of the Doge's Palace are not wheelchair-accessible, as a result of which we cannot accommodate wheelchairs on this tour.

This tour runs rain or shine. However, please note that the gondola ride cannot operate during heavy rain or high tides. In this case we will provide an alternative itinerary.
Please remember that the Basilica is a holy place and attire must be appropriate: Both men and women are asked to wear clothing that covers at least the shoulders and knees. Walks of Italy cannot be held responsible for denied entry due to improper dress. Backpacks are prohibited inside of St. Mark's Basilica.
After your exploration of Venice by foot, your guide drops you off at the Gondola Stand for a relaxing gondola ride. The guide will not be with you on the gondola.

Laura was very nice and knowledgeable. It’s a very unique city full of history. Great Byzantine art in St Mark’s Basilica and very impressive rooms and art in Doge’s Palace. Pitty to find out that Venice’s population today is declining and I hope something is done about it, even if that means reduced tourist accessibility. Generally great experience.

Pamela was a great tour guide! She was very willing to help explain things even outside of the tour, such how to get to certain places later in the day. The tour was a great mix of things to see and had plenty of breaks. The tour consisted of plenty of nice walking and even with rain today, it was fine with some ponchos we brought with us.

Worth every penny.

Laura was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and informative. I liked that there was a break between the first half and second half of the day long enough for a nice lunch. The gondola ride was the highlight of the day! The St Marcos church tour and Doges Palace were fun but we were pretty tired at the end. All in all a great day and we had perfect weather! Well organized and the earphones worked great. Highly recommend.

Emanuele was excellent! He was born and raised in Venice and shares many personal customs, stories and sayings from his family. He was patient with our group and shared his expansive knowledge in a way that made you feel you were listening to a story. Very thorough tour, and the gondola ride was the cherry on top. Highly recommend this tour, just know you will be walking many, many, many miles despite the breaks and over many bridges. If you have physical limitations, this may not be for you.
