What To Expect

Outstanding tour!

What an outstanding experience in the beautiful city of Barcelona. The skip the line admittance to Sagrada Familia was worth the price alone. Our guide was Sergio and he couldn’t have been better. His knowledge and love of the city was very evident. He took us to some great spots in the Gothic Quarter, downtown and other parts of the city, including up in the hills of Montjuic which provides amazing views of the city. Our visit to the incredible Sagrada Familia was the highlight of the tour and we were given headsets so we could listen to Sergio’s narration. I left after the visit as I had booked the half day tour. Sergio is a very friendly, knowledgeable and professional guide and I’m sure the other guides at the agency are too.

Rod, our guide, was outstanding! He took us to interesting and historical places. His presentation was very animated and expressive, infused with humor, and he was extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area. The Sagrada Familia was awesome! I'm sure other guides from Explore Catalunya are very good, but I can definitely recommend Rodrigo for a wonderful tour.

Fantastic tour with our guide Sergio! I did this tour with my daughter while on a Norwegian cruise and I was surprised at the level of detail. I have been on NCL tours and Viator was on another level. We were picked up at our port and Sergio was very fun, insightful and thoughtful of our time to get us back to our cruise port in time. I loved the timing of the music when he had us enter Sagrada Familia (you will understand if you take this tour), and the surprise he had for us at the Olympic Stadium. . I strongly recommend this tour and Viator!

The excursion was excellent the church experience was the best. Would like to add that our tour guide Sergio went above and beyond when I fell. He got it s to a pharmacy for an ace bandage for my ankle that was already swelling and get the cab back to the cruise ship. He was wonderful. We did miss the rest of the tour due to my injury. Sergio was excellent in all areas of the tour including going above regarding my injury. We definitely plan to use Viator again next year. Thank you

Sergio Vidal is a fantastic guide! He is knowledgeable, friendly, jovial, interesting, and seems to genuinely care about his guests, their experiences, and their well being. He made sure the pace of the tour was good for all abilities and interests. He even made some parts of the tour that we thought we'd be less interested in be very interesting and they became some of the highlights.

This tour was exactly what we were looking for on the day our cruise ship docked in Barcelona. The tour company had a taxi pick us up at our terminal on the dock and returned us on time. Our tour guide Sergio was awesome. He is very knowledgeable on everything Barcelona and he was very attentive to the whole group on the tour. I would really recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see as much of Barcelona as possible but has limited time.

The best tour we have been on during our Mediterranean trip. Our tour guide Sergio was exceptional. You could see he loved sharing his knowledge. We were picked up by taxi from the cruise Port. The only hiccup was the lack of English from the taxi driver and not understanding the reserved name was for 2 people. Our travel companions had the same experience. We were dropped off across the road obscured by buildings and construction and we had no idea how to find the Tour building. A hotel doorman directed us to where we needed to go. We could not do the last section of the tour which was what it was due to our needing to be back at the Port. Sergio organized for the tour coach to take us back to the Port on time. loved, loved, loved this tour and loved our snap shot of Barcelona

BEST TOUR GUIDE IN BARCELONA, WORST TOUR COMPANY EVER!

I want to begin by stating that our tour of La Sagrada Familia was without a doubt our BEST tour and BEST guide (Rod) during our entire 10 day tour of the Med. Rod brought the history and story of this landmark to life like we have never experienced before. That being said, the local tour operator, Explore Catalunya was the WORST we have experienced anywhere in the world we have travelled. Our group consisted of five couples, all family members travelling on the NCL Escape. We arranged to be picked up at the port at 8:00am. We confirmed this in writing several times prior to our cruise. The ship arrived on time but the port authorities did not "clear" the ship until 8:15. We were the first passengers off the ship only to find tour guides, reserved shuttles and buses lining the exit door...but not ours. We called the supplied phone number only to be told that our driver waited till 8:20 and then LEFT. Patricia suggested we take several taxis to her office and she would try to help us. With the help of a local speaking port employee, eventually she agreed to send (3) taxis to pick us up and join an already in progress tour. We lost 2 hours of our tour and the complete shopping portion at the end. Tour companies know that they need to wait for the passengers to be released from the ship before leaving them stranded. Worst tour company ever!
