What To Expect

Get out of the chaos of the city during this fun Kilkenny, Wicklow, and Glendalough tour that easily meets in Dublin for those travelers who’re staying there but want to see the Irish countryside, too.

After meeting at the designated location, head out with your group and guide to your first stop at Kilkenny Castle Park. Here, you have some options—you can either tour the gardens and watch a film about the history for free or pay (own expense) to take a guided tour of Kilkenny Castle.

Back on the road, your guide provides commentary during the drive to Wicklow Mountains National Park. Spend time taking in the views at the national park before moving on to Glendalough Monastic Settlement to explore the ruined monastic city on your own.

Your last stop is at Glendalough Woollen Mills to learn about sheepdog herding and to see a live demonstration at the farm.

Enjoy a relaxing drop-off after this full-day tour in Dublin.

This is a must if you’re in Dublin for a few days. Beautiful scenery and plenty of time to explore Glendalough and Kilkenny. The coach is comfortable and our guide, Aoife, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The best driver, Saleh. He was always smiling and courteous and very safe driver. Thank you both Aoife and Saleh!

Profesional, engaging and well timed

This was a fabulous tour! We had ample time at each stop to make the most of each activity. It was a lovely blend of history, nature and culture. Luke was a very professional and warm guide, and we felt safe with Tomas behind the wheel. The tour was very well organised and a good duration, returning us to Dublin in time for dinner. I would definitely choose this tour company again and was very happy knowing we’d seen a bit more of the beautiful Republic of Ireland.
Rachel and Brian are wonderful!

Rachel and Brian were excellent! Rachel was personable, knowledgeable and just a fun host to have. She gave excellent recommendations at each stop and shared an entire list of things to do in Dublin, including an amazing Spotify playlist! It was wonderful being driven to sights all day and taking mini naps in between. I was OBSESSED with the sheepdogs! Not something I thought I would do in Ireland!

Beautiful and Enchanting Tour
Kimberly_B, Apr 2024
Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough and Sheepdog demonstration were amazing. We only had an hour at Kilkenny due to several of the fellow tourists being late to the bus. Kilkenny seemed amazing, it was a beautiful little town with a castle. 1 hour was not enough time to explore the town.
One trip to experience so much

Our guide Quiggs and driver Vic exceeded our expectations. They were so knowledgeable and entertaining. So glad we did this trip.
Do it!
Rose_O, Apr 2024
Our guide was great! He played an instrument on the bus and had both historical and personal stories to share. It made the experience extremely memorable and enjoyable. I would highly recommend. Views were great and the stops were awesome.
Had a great tour!

Our Tour guide, Aoife, did a fantastic job explaining lots of details of all 3 places we visited. She shared interesting information about each location including lots of History for this History Buff. She also gave me and my family some Personal Time to help us explore my “Cork Family” origins. If I take another Tour I would request Aoife. Also, Ana our bus driver, did amazing driving the biggest Mercedes Benz Bus I’ve ever seen. It was extremely comfortable. She really made me feel calm being on the opposite side of the road that I am used to. FYI.. I upgraded our tickets to the first 3 row reservation option and have to say that was worth every penny! Also… I loved watching the sheep herding demo! Well worth the time. I enjoyed hearing Farmer Michael explain how his dog Maggie gets top spot as a sheep herder. All in all.. it was a fantastic day with Aoife and Ana as they provided lovely Irish music playing in the background as we explored all 3 great locations causing my heart to fall in love with Ireland.
Great day trip

The sheepdog presentation was amazing! My teens really enjoyed it. Glendalough is super beautiful, and having quality time to walk and enjoy it’s beauty and serenity was great! The town and people of Kilkenny were very nice, and again- quality amount of time to explore and enjoy it!
Highly Recommend

My family really enjoyed the entire tour thanks to Rachel and Jose. A highlight was visiting farmer Michael and holding the adorable lambs! We would highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore outside the main cities.

Such a wonderful day trip! lots of Irish scenery and stories and folklore from our guide Colum. Never seen someone park a tour bus in a tiny parallel parking space but Mustata did it! Loved the sheep dog demo and Kilkenny! A little long in the rain at Glendalough but still great! Thanks!
It was a good tour & I...

It was a good tour & I enjoyed the small city stop Only glitch was the bus didn’t show up till 8:20 (20;minutes late) and it was pouring rain (most passengers were very unhappy about that) but otherwise good value tour Length was about right too
Great day trip!

Delaney was a great tour guide and Vic was a great driver. The trip was very well scheduled and fun!
Great Experience with a Crazy Twist
Kaycee_G, Nov 2023
We booked this trip last minute because we had a day with nothing planned. My husband wanted to visit Kilkenny, and I was along for the ride. While I wasn’t shocked, this trip was amazing! Our tour guide, Colum was outstanding. Glendalough was breathtaking. My husband went to the lake and I stayed and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and ate at a local food spot. Wicklow was crazy windy, but really fun to witness. The sheep dog demonstration can’t be missed. You learn a lot about the sheep and watch the cutest dogs do their job. Finally, you stop in Kilkenny which is an adorable medieval town. I wish we had more time in Kilkenny, but it didn’t change our experience. What impressed me the most was how Colum took our safety very seriously. While coming back, a riot was happening on the street that we were supposed to stop at. We had to make a detour, and he called base to ensure we were safe to get off of the bus. He made sure that we knew EXACTLY where we were going, he even offered to walk us to our location. Colum is a true gentleman and it was a pleasure to be on his tour. I would take any tour that he offered at any location.
A Fabulously Full Day
Missy_S, Nov 2023
This was the most delightful day of our trip to Ireland. Aoife was a perfect guide. We enjoyed the stories she shared and her insights into history. It would be hard to pick what we enjoyed most as each stop was different. But I believe the sheepdog demonstration with Michael was truly a highlight for all four of us! And thanks to Ana, our driver; they made a great team.
The entire trip was well...
sharon_n, Oct 2023
The entire trip was well worth the time and cost! Scenery was beautiful, there was plenty of time to walk and explore, and the sheepdog demonstration was great to view. Colum was welcoming, charming, informative and what was needed as our guide to a microcosm of the past and present of Ireland.
Awesome experience in the Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough, Kilkenny and the sheepdog demo.
William_Y, Sep 2023
Every part of this tour was awesome. The Monastic ruins in Glendalough, the Kilkenny Castle and Wicklow Mountains were spectacular, but the surprising and best part was the Woolen Mill and sheepdog demo. That was memorable. And our guide Susan was superb. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining.
Rainy and still fun

Best day trip!
Nicole_M, Sep 2023
This trip is worth it! 10 stars all the way. The bus was very comfortable, the sights were amazing but honestly Rachel and Salle were stunning. We had the most smoothest ride. Rachel is incredibly knowledgeable, funny, personable and makes the trip. We had a high value experience!
Easy day trip from the city
Kevin_J, Sep 2023
Fun day tour with enough time to see sights outside the city. Lakes, sheepdogs, small town - fun and knowledgable tour guide.
Worth it!
Aaron_B, Sep 2023
