What To Expect

Depart from a centrally located spot in London and climb aboard a luxury coach destined for Leeds Castle. Pop in your state-of-the-art Vox headphones and listen to illuminating commentary from your knowledgeable guide. Admire the gorgeous English countryside as you travel to Leeds castle, an ancient fortification located amid 500 acres of parkland.

On arrival, opt to explore the glittering lakes and beautiful gardens of the castle’s environs independently, or choose to beat the crowds with an early morning tour of the fortification. Allow your attention to be directed to priceless tapestries and opulent accessories as you stroll the castle’s chambers, and attempt to conquer the mystifying maze in the grounds.

After thorough exploration, return to your coach and travel to Canterbury, birthplace of English Christianity and home to Canterbury Cathedral. Beautiful day for our pilgrimage! Chrissy was wonderful and so knowledgeable! Yolanda our driver did a great job and her laugh was contagious! Bonus that we got to hear the tour not only in English but in Japanese as well- so talented! The stops were wonderful and would totally recommend to all!!

Leeds castle was beautiful and so was the Canterbury Cathedral. Dover was a little disappointing-bit not much you can do about it.

The Cathedral is absolutely stunning and much larger than I expected. While the castle is lovely, my personal preference would have been to see the original, not restored/updated building.

Our guide Cameron and our driver Sam made this trip especially memorable. . Lead Castle was beautiful (only wish the weather was warmer). White Cliff were beautiful and the sky cleared enough to see the shores of France 🇫🇷. Then off to Canterbury. We had a great day and the long day went by quickly with all of Cameron’s stories and Sam’s smooth handling of the buys. Stan & Lorraine D

It was very relaxed and comfortable. It was not rushed like some other tours. There was alot of fog on our Dover trip, but itwas still neat to get some pictures of the cliffs and the castle. Canterbury was fascinating and Leeds Castle was beautiful.

Great History Lesson

We enjoyed a day out of London seeing the beautiful country of England and we learned quite a bit thanks to Ursula, our guide. Her love of London and England is evident and she has so much information to share. Leeds Castle was lovely, although we wish there was more focus on how and when it was built; the focus is on the woman who owned it in the early 20th century. Very beautiful, and the gardens were lovely. Perfect amount of time spent there. The White Cliffs of Dover were just what they look like; I’m glad we got to see them, but kind of like Stonehenge, once you see them, you’re done. But it was worth the quick trip there because it so close to Canterbury. The cathedral was absolutely stunning and Ursula did an excellent job of sharing the history and stories behind this wonderful site. We didn’t get to have lunch until about 3:30 and I wish we had packed some snacks because the choices for snacks at Leeds were minimal. Lunch in Canterbury was a bit rushed and we didn’t have any time to explore the town which was charming, but that wasn’t promised. I just wished we’d had a little more time there. Our 15-year-old enjoyed the day as well.

Leeds castle and Canterbury were good but White Cliffs were sacrificed

Check in was not well organised - Evan’s Evan’s tour staff sent me to two different queues to check in before sending me to the end of the correct (third) one. Shelia did a great job conducting the tour and ensuring a good time. White cliffs was limited to a photo op from the Dover sea front beyond the ferry terminals, rather than the visit to the bus park and walk to photograph directly. While this was due to a delayed exit from London due to traffic we arrived back earlier than originally estimated.

White Cliffs of Dover

The emphasis apparently was on the cathedral, which even though I paid for decided not to see it after being so disappointed as I booked this tour to see the "White Cliffs" of Dover as the highlight. It was a toilet stop only. We did not even get close. We spent a lot of time at the Leeds castle. I think the time could of been proportion better. We would of done better travelling their ourselves. Very disappointing and a waste of money

A Taste of British History

I did this same tour about 30 years ago with some friends. This time, I was with my daughter and I'm glad that I did it again. Our driver was Derek and our tour guide was Rowan. The bus left pretty much on time, and Derek did a great job getting out of the city and out to the country where the real adventure awaited. Rowan was a great guide. She had great historical knowledge of the locations that we visited, and interspersed her commentary with personal anecdotes. She was both informative and entertaining. Leeds Castle is a must-see. The castle itself has so much history, but the supporting grounds add to the experience as well. Last time I went we did the hedge maze, but we didn't have time on this trip. We did have a bout of rain after we left the castle and were exploring the grounds, but it was short-lived. The next stop was the Cliffs of Dover. We didn't have the best conditions for pictures as it was windy and rainy, but they are still a sight to behold. That stop is pretty quick as there is not much to do there other than take a few pictures. The final stop was Canterbury. The town itself was fun with plenty of restaurants and shopping. But the cathedral is steeped in so much history and still plays an important role in the royal pageantry of the country today. If you have a free day while in London to do this tour, I would highly recommend it. And if you can Rowan and Derek in the bargain, that will make it all the better.

Our guide Manon was very knowledgeable and paced the information given on the various sites in a pleasant and interesting manner. It was a lovely day- Leeds Castle was beautiful and the stop at Dover Beach was sufficient for us to soak up the ambience and to get some excellent pictures. I would have given 5 stars, however, we were disappointed that we did not have access to key areas of the Canterbury Cathedral since a graduation ceremony was scheduled. Clients should be forewarned when booking so that they can decide if to pay to enter the Cathedral. Overall, a wonderful trip!

A great tour with the right amount of time at each stop. Our guide Debra was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We were a little bit disappointed that the cathedral had scaffolding on it and that they were filming inside that day, but it was still a lovely stop.

Excellent tour, even with a mobility impairment (on crutches) though warning about stairs

Kevin was an amazing guide. Full of interesting information. I learned so much. Toni was a great, smooth driver. For those with a mobility impairment. It was a lot of stairs. I managed to get around and keep up In Canterbury. However, it is quite a bit. I would do it again though. However, I did not walk the grounds in Leeds. There was a river boat that would have taken me to the maze but I did not realize it. There is a stop right in the beginning when you get off the coach, so you could walk back there and get on. Not quite sure how it works since I did not take it. I also limited my walk In Canterbury. We ate at the corner pub outside the entrance, which had really good food. You just have only a little over an hour to do lunch, walk around, and get back in the bus, so I limited how far I went. However, it was a perfect afternoon and Kevin and Toni were really great and understanding.

Not the best tour. Spent all of 10 minutes at Dover. The tour guide droned. She was very disorganized, kept staying she hadn’t been to the castle in a while and didn’t know where things were, and never stopped talking for a single minute. I felt like I was in history class, but not in a good way. She went on and on with useless history facts that didn’t really relate to what we were seeing. It’s an easy drive and there are some pretty sights, but I wouldn’t do this tour again. (The bus driver Rowan was awesome we loved him)
