What To Expect

After boarding your bus at the meeting point near Blackfriars station, you’ll head through the English countryside towards your first stop; Canterbury Cathedral, whose long history dates back to the 6th century.

Once you’ve admired its grand architecture, you’ll head towards the White Cliffs of Dover—hailed as one of the most spectacular natural features in England. You’ll follow a walking path for the best views of the landscape before having the option to visit the 11th-century Dover Castle.

Finally, you’ll return to Canterbury to explore its charming historic center on a walking tour. After lunch, you’ll return to your original meeting point in London.

The tour was as advertised, but be aware that you only get a small sampling of Dover and Canterbury. The staff and signage at Dover castle were not extremely helpful. It would have been extremely helpful for our tour guide to have gone into the grounds of Dover Castle to help instruct where key points are located. Just know this tour is the briefest of tastes and the majority of the tour is the transportation to the sights.

Historical castle and cathedral. Not so interesting white cliffs, but nice wiew of Dover. Good tourguide, a little man with funny hair. Never got his name, the speaker inside the bus did'nt work very good to the back of the bus. He said a lot of things we could not hear...

Good itinerary but not much time in Canterbury after lunch. Guide had a good knowledge and was great as for the vocal part, but the short 6 or 7 minute walk to Canterbury center turned into 20 minutes even at the quick pace.

Definitely my favourite was Dover Castle (extra cost but it was really big castle - underground tunnels are not that interesting) and Canterbury was a very nice city too

Our tour was great! Lucy was knowledgeable and very nice! She gave us some very interesting facts and tales of each place we visited. The weather was great so we were able to enjoy the awesome views of the cliffs and walked around the town of Canterbury where we eat and did some shopping.

Lucy and our bus driver were a dream team. Lucy was very polished and fun and despite the winds and rain, she made the most of the tour for the guests. Glad we took the tour and saw an important part of England we may never have seen otherwise.

Absolutely beautiful and rugged beauty of nature at the White cliffs of Dover, and the quaint little town of Canterbury was stunning. Didn't go to the Dover castle as I opted to go to the lighthouse at the White cliffs, but both options were awesome.

WOW! My wife and I absolutely loved this tour! It was amazing on all accounts. Even with the high winds and overcast skies, we were still impressed. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and she did a great job. The castle at Dover was really cool. Canterbury was a great little town also. One of the nicer things was the travel time was not as long as other tours we have taken.

I had a difficult time finding an Uber at 6 in the morning and was running a few mins late. I called the company to notify them but they still left us behind. I am so disappointed!!!!!!

Dear Customer, We wait five minutes when requested and our tour guide gave ample time. We cannot wait longer than 5 mins, we have to think of other customers on the bus. We always wait for 5 mins, but cannot wait longer. I am sorry you are disappointed , but when you book you are told to be on time for your tour and to be there for 10 mins prior to departure. Jane.

If the castle is closed, the tour will screw you over

In Dover, you have the choice between hiking the white cliffs or visiting the castle. On the day we went, the castle had closed and the tour company did not know, but by the time we learned this, it was too late to do anything else with the morning, because the hike was too long. The tour company could have taken the group that had planned on the castle to Canterbury early and then come back for the hiking group when they were done, but instead they just dropped us off at the cliff visitor center/cafe, where we had nothing to do for approximately three hours. While it’s not the tour’s fault that the castle was closed, they should have 1) made arrangements with the castle to be notified of closures (the castle representative said they didn’t know out tour was coming or they would have notified the company, like they did with every other tour that was scheduled that day) and 2) done something to make our investment in the tour worthwhile once we learned it was closed. As it was, we paid for a whole day tour that consisted of a full half-day sitting around and doing nothing because this company didn’t decide to do their due diligence with the castle or find anything else for us to do with our time when we learned it was closed. A more professional company would have found alternate activities or simply taken us to the next destination rather than leaving us to sit around at a rest stop for several hours.

A nice way to see things outside London

I enjoyed this trip a lot because everything was planned out for me. The bus trip to Dover was pleasant. Lucy was a terrific guide and very sweet and fun. Once we reached Dover Lucy took us to the cliffs. You can either follow the cliff trail or go to the castle which is an additional charge. I opted to hike the trail and enjoyed it. To hike it entirely is about 90 minutes to 2 hours. The welcome center is very nice with a gift shop and area with food. The bus picked us up to continue to Canterbury. We were given nearly three hours to explore and Canterbury is a charming town with lots of restaurants and shopping. I paid the additional fee to visit the cathedral and it's nice but I have been to many churches worldwide and IMO not a must see. We were dropped back in London before 6pm. I was very happy with the entire trip

We really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide, Darren, provided a lot of great information during our travels through London and en route to our destinations. The white cliffs of Dover were beautiful, and we would have loved to spend more time there! We opted to take the castle tour mostly because we were concerned about the weather. The town of Canterbury was absolutely lovely with many interesting shops and restaurants. It was nice to have choices of activities at each site. Would definitely recommend this tour.

LOVED this tour. The cliffs of Dover were beautiful, we had enough time to hike down path and get photo's. Dover Castle was awesome. WWII history was fascinating! Canterbury town was great with little shops and lunch options. We had just seen Westminister Abbey and opted to visit the town instead of the Cathedral. It looked beautiful from outside.
