David (the Young Archeologisg / @un_joven_arqueologo) was amazing! So knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging. We learned so much about Teotihuacan and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you!
More than a tour guide! See the pyramids with an actual archaeologist! Amazing experience!
Donald_s, Feb 2024
Our archaeology tour with David was the highlight of our trip to Mexico City. He is more than a tour guide. He is a full-fledged archaeologist who brings so much knowledge, depth and passion to the tour. It's not listed on the original offering but be sure to ask for an expanded tour where David picks you up and takes you the palaces. These sites were actually the highlight of the day. All credit goes to David, one of the best guides we've had anywhere in the world. Thank you, David!

David was our guide. He's very passionate about archeology and shared a lot of information with us. He's also a very likable young man.
Amazing tour - one of the best in-depth and passionate guides I have ever come across
Boon_K, Dec 2023
Excellent private guided tour, made even better because David is a trained archaeologist. He was able to give us a really in-depth commentary about every part of the site - so much so that we ended up spending almost 6 hours there! And didn't feel bored one bit. His passion for archaeology really came through, plus he was able to visually paint the picture of how they excavated the site, etc. I definitely recommend doing this tour, and ask for David. He is also able to provide / assist with transport from Mexico City; ask him about it when he reaches out on Whatsapp a day or two before the tour.
You will be fortunate if you get Jorge Archer as your guide!
Barbara_H, Nov 2023
Jorge Archer is an outstanding guide in every respect: enthusiasm for and deep scholarly knowledge of subject; ability to communicate his knowledge and field experience clearly and concisely; and flexibility in responding to our questions and needs. We are two lawyers, an art historian and curator, and a journalist and writer of nonfiction, all with a keen interest in the culture and history of Teotihuacan. We all were impressed by Jorge and highly recommend him as a guide.

Thanks, it was a pleasure.
Great guide, awesome archaeological site!

Nephtali was an amazing guide, she had such a depth of knowledge and did a great job making that accessible. Having a guide here was particularly helpful as there is limited educational signage at this site. Would absolutely recommend to anyone else!
Incredible detail and hugely enjoyable
Thea_G, May 2023
David was an absolute incredible guide. He was wildly knowledgeable but also shared information in a very fun and clear manner. He clearly knows this site inside and out!!! I would recommend this tour to anyone but especially to someone who is interested in a detailed description of the architecture and history!

Teotihuacan pyramid tour and history
Guevara_R, Apr 2023
CDMX- Mexico City has a deep history and the Pyramids of Teotihuacan, about 50 minutes from the city, are a big part of understanding Mexican history and how CDMX became one of the largest and most interesting cities in the world. Our tour guide, Nephtali, who is an anthropologist, was a wonderful guide through the pyramids and museum. She met us a door 3 and we finished at door 1, which is definitely the way you should visit the site. She spend over 6 hours with our group of 3 people and kept the time flying by with her insightful stories and observations about the site, history and people that created the pyramids. One of the things we enjoyed most about Nephtali is that she worked hard to help us make connections between what we were seeing and the people that lived in the Teotihuacan site. We highly recommend her to anyone visiting the site! remember to wear a hat, apply sunscreen and bring water!
Entertaining, educational and beautiful tour

If you're a history or archaeology buff, a family with precocious or curious kids, or someone who wants to appreciate the magnificence of Teotihuacan through the eyes of someone who knows the site down to the pebbles, this is your tour. David is a fantastic guide with infectious passion, and as an archaeology student he was able to share photos and information about excavations in areas too delicate or dangerous for tourists. The more you learn about Teotihuacan, the more incredible it becomes - and you will learn a LOT on this tour!
David was the best guide...
Joan_R, Oct 2022
David was the best guide for seeing and understanding this amazing site in Mexico. He has a degree in archaeology and brings not only his academic interpretation to this place but an enthusiasm and perspective that is infectious! He brings additional material In his own “guidebook” to share with you. He is respectful, kind and interested in making your trip a special one. He is able to Impart his knowledge in a clear and articulate way; his English is very good. You could not ask for a better person to experience Teotihuacan with and through than this amazing Mexican guide who is proud and passionate and loves so much what he does.
Highly recommend this...
Daphne_C, May 2022
Highly recommend this tour as it gives you the history and explains the symbolism of the archeological site. Much better than just going on your own and not being able to understand what you’re looking at. Our guide Jorge was excellent and knowledgeable!
Response from Host, May 2022
Thanks, glad to share a bit of my understanding of the Teotihuacan Culture.
From an expert in the field. Literally.
Ashok_K, Apr 2022
Jorge, our guide, and his wife have devoted their lives to studying the history and archaelogy of Teothihuacan. They are the "real deal" and know much of the history and interpretation of Teotihuacan. My wife is a professor of Latin American studies, and I am an Andean archaelogical researcher, so we were delighted to share in Jorge's obvious enthusiasm and stories about the site. Highly recommended.
Fantastic Guide.
Reece_L, Jan 2022
Jorge was just fantastic. If you're interested in learning about the area, you'd be hard pressed to find a better person. He's published, well-spoken, and most importantly, passionate about the area. Could not recommend highly enough!
Response from Host, Mar 2022
Thanks, always a pleasure to share a bit of my research work. J.Archer

Great guide with in-depth knowledge about the site. He has been working in the field with excavation and can tell you the trough about the latest discoveries in a fascinating way
We had an amazing tour with Jorge...
Chaney K, Jan 2018
We had an amazing tour with Jorge. What a thrill to explore such an incredible sight with someone who actually works on it. We spent the entire day with him, first at Teotihuacan and then at a nearby colonial-era monastery. He offered insights not only on the history and cultures of the various peoples who lived in the area, but on the symbolism in their art and the methods used by the archaeologists on site. We got to see a couple of partially excavated apartments away from the main site where some beautiful murals are still preserved. We found it particularly helpful that his tour started early in the day by late morning there were long lines of people waiting for their turn to shuffle up and down the steps of the pyramids. It was a vastly more informative and fascinating experience than if we had gone by ourselves.
Teotihuacan is a must-see...
Victor L, Jan 2017
Teotihuacan is a must-see archaeology site just outside Mexico City. If you just want to see artifacts and reconstructed displays, the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City is a great treat. However, nothing can substitute the awe that you will feel during an actual visit at Teotihuacan. Me and my life visited in October and enjoyed a day of beautiful weather. Our guide Alex gave us a detailed and vivid description on how splendid this Pre-Hispanic city once was. We booked return transportation and both Alex and the driver are punctual, knowledgeable, courteous and very accommodating!
This Is actually a 10 star rating...
Emily C, Jul 2016
This Is actually a 10 star rating! Jorge was such an incredible guide who fascinated us with his vast knowledge of teotihuacan history. He showed us not only the pyramids, but took us to see many murals outside of the main park area, going above and beyond to follow our interests. So kind too!
