Fantastic Private Tour!

This was the highlight of our trip! Patricia was fantastic - she responded quickly when I let her know we had changed our pickup address, she was perfectly on time, and as a history teacher, had SO MUCH to share about the culture and the pyramids. And because it was a private tour (highly recommended!) she was able to drop us off at the end in her favorite neighborhood and tell us what to see and what to eat. She was fantastic and all we saw was amazing. Definitely do this!

A great visit to Teotihuacan

This was my third visit to the pyramids, but Joel, our guide was the most informative of all of the guides I’ve worked with. We had an excellent driver who was punctual and even fit in a brief stop at the Basilica of Guadalupe on the way back to the hotel. With just my wife and me, we didn’t have to deal with the usual tourist bus drama. There was the obligatory obsidian market/pulque tasting stop, but it was as low pressure as it could get and very educational. We highly recommend this way to visit the pyramids.

Our driver and guide were wonderful. They had a fantastic knowledge of the history of Teotihuacan and the science behind the architecture. We even got to meet local craftsmen and the ladies made gorgeous jewelry. Highly recommend this tour!

Lack of interest from the guide and had little to say about the history of the pyramids. The driver who took us to the pyramids from Mexico City was very professional.

They don't show up and your money goes on vacation

The tour guide never showed up and I never received my promised refund. It was past time for us to meet and the tour guide never showed up. I called the tour company and he told me that he would send somebody and I would pay them directly and he would refund my money. Fool me once.... It's been a month and I am still waiting for my refund.

Lovely people but not what we expected

When booking we saw great reviews but unfortunately maybe we got unlucky with a guide that barely spoke any English. She was lovely but we didn’t get to learn much about the pyramids and she didn’t understand our questions so it was disappointing for us. Additionally we expected a much longer tour - the entire thing was about an hour of touring and 2 hour of driving. We were told we wouldn’t be back until 4pm but we were told the tour was over at 11:30am. We had to ask to go to lunch to extend it a little bit and we never receive the “snacks” or bottled water that was supposed to be included. Driver and tour guide were very nice people but this did not meet expectations for the actual tour.

A Tour Exploring Ancient and Modern Mexican Culture

Our guide Adrian picked us up at our apartment and gave us lots of history on Teotihuacan during our drive there. Once we arrived another guide Eleazar took us through the archaeological site and gave us a full commentary on its history, pointing out interesting features. The pyramids are breath-taking and were a highlight of our trip to Mexico City. Unfortunately the museum at the site was unexpectedly closed. We then visited a nearby shop where Eleazar demonstrated the uses of the agave plant and the various precious rocks used by the ancient cultures. We had a chance to taste prickly pear wine and Mezcal. Our final stop was the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe which is the place where the Virgin Mary appeared to a peasant. It is a highly visited Marian pilgrimage site second only to St. Peter's in Rome. Adrian took us fully through both the old and new churches and even though a wedding was taking place in the new church he took us to a moving walkway underneath the altar where we could see the original painting of Mary of Guadalupe. This tour was comprehensive in the variety of cultural areas it explored. We would have liked more time to fully visit the third pyramid, Temple of Quetzalcóatl but we don't think many tours include this.

The tour was very short. The guide did a bare minimum explaining, hardly an hour. We were not provided the snack and water and we were given only the water, after I asked and showed him our voucher information about things included. Very Disappointing!!

Not a good experience

Our driver was very nice. The guide in our van was pleasant, but he transferred us to a different guide, Juan, at the pyramids, who wasn’t good. We didn’t get a full tour with explanations from Juan- he left us after giving some basic questionable information. Make sure you clarify that tour includes water. We were told to go buy our own water until I showed them drinks and snacks were included. The van operators were okay, we really didn’t like the guide at the Pyramids.
