What To Expect

Your early morning starts with pickup at the meeting point in Piazza Duca d' Aosta in Milan. This trip has a private tour option for an intimate exploration of St. Moritz and the Swiss Alps with your own guide.

Meet your group, board your air-conditioned coach, and head out toward St. Moritz, a luxury alpine resort town in Switzerland’s Engadin valley. Along the way, stop for coffee and admire the views of Lake Como.

After free time in St. Moritz for shopping and pastry tastings (own expense), board the Bernina Express Red Train with a second-class ticket. Relax while the train “climbs” up to 7,390 feet (2,253 meters)—the highest point reached by trains in Europe—through the alps to Tirano on a route with UNESCO World Heritage status.

Arrive in Tirano by evening and return to the pickup point in Milan.

A must see place with Amaizing Scenery. The guide has a wealth of Knowledge and he even told us stories not related to the tour. Make sure that you board the right bus at the place of the meeting. Warm clothing is a must. Things are very expensive at the other side of the boarder.

Another instance of unclear starting information. The starting point was clearly identified, but the bus (one among several) had nothing pertaining to Viator visible, and only an observant guide noticed me looking around and asked me where I was touring. Otherwise excellent tour…..driver, guide, timing, scenery, etc.

A good trip; however, there were a few things which negated from the overall experience. First, at no fault to Viator, the Bernina line was closed, which we only found out about less than 24 hours before (so no opportunity to cancel). The alternate arrangement was to put us on a train from St Moritz to Thusis. While this Tain journey was interesting the concern is that the train trip we were sent on (in the cheapest carriages) is valued at $18.90 euro each vs the Bernina Express at $29.90 euro each. So for our group Viator pocketed $33 euro with no offer of any refund (multiply this by the 40+ people who attended and Viator pocketed at least $440 euro). The other concern was the 3.5 hour return trip with no comfort break. Otherwise this was a good trip except the main attraction never happened.

Beautiful scenery, scary ride up winding mountain in snow… driver excellent St moritz sleepy , difficult find lunch place. Family with whining 2 year old impacted experience- stuck on bus and train with crying kid was not fun. Tour too expensive- could have done on own for third of cost and gotten just as much information

An excellent snowy day

I did this trip yesterday and the whole day was fabulous. Our tour guide Maria was very helpful and pleasant. The snow came down very quick on the way up to St Moritz which resulted in us getting stuck for 5/10 mins. Our driver then put the snow chains on and off we went. Our driver was excellent and I never felt unsafe at any point. St Moritz was beautiful and made even more beautiful by the snowy conditions. A really good day overall.

We did this tour for my friend's birthday and it was an amazing way to spend her special day. Our tour guide was fantastic and gave us lots of history, information and answered any questions. He was also fun and friendly and really made the trip even better. Unfortunately, I can't recall his name but he was great. The scenery on this trip was just stunning and it was a wonderful way to spend a day on our Milan trip. I highly recommend anyone staying in Milan for a few days to take this trip over the Swiss border and experience something special and beautiful.

I highly recommend this tour. Five stars! The bus driver, Claudio, was very skillful and safe. The English speaking tour guide, Barbara, was pleasant, courteous, knowledgeable, and very professional. The Alps scenery was fantastic.

Disappointment Averted

It was a wonderful trip despite the glitch: we arrived at the Swiss border only to find out there had been a landslide on the road up to San Moritz. But our guide Alejandro and our driver Claudio worked a plan B almost as good (and that was because it involved a bit longer on the bus) Instead of taking the train down to Tirano we started in Tirano and went up to into the Alps. What could have been a major disappointment was a wonderful excursion!

Best train ride ever! We saw magnificent views of the Alps and had a wonderful experience in St. Moritz to shop Swiss chocolate and taste fondue. Mara was an absolutely great tour guide and explained the all the areas we saw with great details. She also spoke Spanish for a few of our team members that did not speak English.

Awesome views of glaciers, ftozen lakes and valleys. Just breathtaking adventure. The trip going up through the Bernina pass was soo beautiful. It was just one lucky day, the sun was out so the views were unobstructed. I got to walk on the frozen St Moritz lake, absolutely stunning. I enjoyed every minute.Xx

No audio device and no stop in the most beautiful stops.

There was no audio device. So even though we had a knowledgeable and nice tour guide, we couldn't hear what he is saying unless we were standing nearby. we were a large group. Also we were not given a chance anywhere on the train for a stop, even for 10 minutes!
