Overview

New Orleans’ Garden District fascinates with historic mansions, impressive architecture, and colorful history, all framed by ancient live oak trees. On this tour, you’ll walk through the neighborhood learning the history and culture of the area from a local guide. The experience is complete with a stop at Lafayette Cemetery to learn about the city’s famous above-ground “Cities of the Dead.”

Centrally located departure location - one block from the St. Charles Streetcar or four blocks from the Magazine Bus. Meetup spot is right next to a great coffee shop, so be sure to show up a few minutes early for a snack. Tour departs from outside the main entrance of the Rink. Your guide will be holding a sign that says"New Orleans Architecture Tours".

Great afternoon walking tour

This is an amazing walking tour. The Garden District is just beautiful and full of history. Kelsey was great, we were late due to a wreck and she stayed in contact with us and we were able to meet up with them. She knows the area and puts a lot of effort into researching the area for her tours.

This was a great tour and our guide, Pauline, was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about the different styles of architecture, as well as history of New Orleans. I felt like we covered quite a bit in just 2 hours, certainly way more than we would have just exploring on our own. She also gave us some great recommendations for the remainder of our trip, as we did this on our first day.

We had a great and informative tour with our guide Will. He is knowledgeable in all the small details and history of the area and specific buildings. Walking along the neighborhood and looking at the buildings would not be the same without the history and context provided by our guide. It's definitely worth the price and I highly recommend the tour.
