Nice guide, interesting fact. Food not so good.

We had been in Venice for a few days before taking this tour so we had already had a chance to enjoy the "tapas" at various places. (You don't call it tapas in Venice.) The tour guide was nice and he offered interesting stories on Venice. He took us and a group of four other couples to three small restaurants around the city. These restaurants had a local vibe and were quiet. However, the food served was not very good compared to many other places we had been to. The bread and breaded items were a little stale. Although these were not tourist-type places, they were not very good.

Gianmarco showed us parts of Venice that we could never have experienced without the tour. The food was great. A good combination of foods and wines that we were able to personalize to our tastes. Our best experience in Venice.

Delicious food and wines. I enjoyed getting away from overcrowded areas. Our guide, Gianmarco, was very informative and offered unique history about the city I had never known or thought to look up. Great atmosphere in all the places we visited.

We went with Jon Marco to 3 bars in the Rialto area, all very local and tried various cicetti and wine As we walked he told us about growing up in Venice and included some lovely nuggets of history.

Gianmarco was an amazing guide and we saw and learned about parts of Venice that we would have not seen without his help! He provided history and knowledge of the less touristy parts of the city. And made our experience memorable.

NOT A WINE TOUR

To be honest it was talking to the other tourists on the trip with us. We learnt more about Australia than we did the wine in Venice. The guide basically took us to 3 wee pubs handed us either red or white wine and snacks never mentioned anything about the history of the wines and it definitely wasn't tapas food. Very disappointed.

Mediocre …. Heavy accented english guide, tapas were just OK (A LOT OF BREAD) you get 1/3 glass of wine at each stop. The evening walk thru “secret” Venice is interesting

Ciao William thanks so much for your feedback. It's true, some of the most common and traditional Venetian cichetti include bread. In fact the most common cichetti that Venetians eat, which you'll see at almost every bar in Venice, are the small pieces of bread. we offer this on our tours together with a wide variety of other traditional food. We hope for our tours to give our guests an authentic local experience and eat like the locals do.

This was a wonderful tour! We got to see parts of Venice that we would never experience. The food and drinks were delightful, and a bonus was meeting new people that were in our group from other countries. Our tour leader was so kind and pointed out fun facts in the area. I highly recommend this tour.

Wine & Cicchetti tour

We had a marvellous tour guide in Gianmarco. He was knowledgeable but also made the tour interesting with fun facts. We went to parts of Venice we would never have found. The cicchetti were varied and tasty as were the wines. Also tasted Venetian spritz which were good. Would definitely recommend this tour and Gianmarco.

We had a great experience with this tour. Our guide was engaging and funny. He was well versed in the history of Venice. The wine was wonderful and the tapas were delicious. We experienced this with a group of strangers from around the world but by the end of the tour we were laughing and enjoying each others company.

The tour guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and interesting. The tapas was a bit disappointing but the wine was nice. We did a lot of walking and we’re taken quite far away from the meeting point. We were left to make our own way back as the tour guide just left us. Was disappointed as we thought the food would be better.

Enjoyed Giancarlo as guide! I didn’t like any of the tapas but my wife did. Limited drink choices but what we received was good. The information didn’t mention the extensive walking we would do and dropping us off well away from where we started.
