Ephesus (Efes) is one of the greatest ancient sites in the Mediterranean. During its heyday in the first century BC, it was the second-largest city in the world, with only Rome commanding more power. Many reconstructed structures and ruins, including the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, can be seen here.

AMAZING TOUR
AMAZING DAY Our guide Sergio was great. Picked us up in a very clean and comfortable van. He took us to Ephesus filled us in on all the history and took us thru the ruins and explained all the points of interest. Then took us to a pottery factory. And on to the temple of Artimus. We then took a break and had a traditional Turkish lunch. We finished the day with a tour of a Turkish rug factory. I would recommend this tour to anyone. Don’t miss it.

Seda - Super Guide!
Seda gave us a wonderful tour. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. She took us to a great place for lunch, a rug making studio, and a pottery studio, in addition to the Ephesus, and Virgin Mary’s House. Our driver was always prompt and his vehicle was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I highly recommend the tour and wish all tourists could experience it with Seda as their guide!

Everything and more.
Very nice tour with Alta in a nice and clean van. We only had two couples on this tour which made things move along smoothly. He was very friendly and attentive and knew how to navigate us around the large crowds. The lunch was good with plenty of choices, drinks not included. For half the cost of a ship excursion, this tour with Viator fits the bill. By the way, the visit to "The House of Mary" doesn't allow pictures taking inside. Ephesus was amazing. Enjoy.

High recommended.
The tour is awesome. The vehicle is very spacious and clean. It was more than enough for 5 of us. The driver and tour guide are super nice. We have two 80+ grandmas, they took care of them very well. Our tour guide is very knowledgeable. Our cruise stay was shot, but they make sure to send us back on time, but also didn’t miss to visit the places as planned.
People Also Ask
Q:What tours can you do of Ephesus?
A:The most popular option is a guided tour, taking you through the well-preserved structures and monuments with a knowledgeable guide. If you prefer to explore at your own pace, self-guided tours are also an option and provide the flexibility to take your time as you explore each site.
Q:Do you need a tour guide for Ephesus?
A:It ultimately depends on your preference and travel style. There are certainly benefits to having a guide, but it is not compulsory to visit Ephesus on a guided tour. A guide can provide valuable context and insights you might not get as you navigate the often-crowded site.
Q:What is the best time to visit Ephesus?
A:The best time to visit Ephesus is in spring and autumn when the temperature is more moderate, and the crowds are lower. During the peak summer months, the temperature can climb up to 80°F (26°C), and the city can get overcrowded with tourists, making it harder to fully enjoy your trip.
Q:What do I need to know before going to Ephesus?
A:Wear comfortable shoes as the site is quite expansive and requires a lot of walking to get around. Second, bring sunscreen and a hat, as little shade is available, especially in summer. Finally, consider purchasing the Aegean Museum Pass, which includes Ephesus and other museums in the same ticket.
Q:Is there a dress code for Ephesus?
A:While there is no official dress code enforced by authorities, it is important to dress respectfully when visiting any historical or religious sites. It is also important to remember that Ephesus can get quite hot in the summer months, so bring a hat and sunglasses to protect yourself.
Q:How many days is enough for Ephesus?
A:Most travelers can cover the must-see sights of Ephesus in a couple of days. This will provide enough time to explore the ancient city ruins and allow time to visit the Ephesus Museum and other nearby sights that many travelers easily miss.
