Our group of 4 had a wonderful tour with our guide Leidse. He was very informative & made sure he called each of us by our 1st names throughout the trip. Leidse surprised us with several sweet treats which only added to our day. We highly recommend Leidse as your guide. He is such a joy & will make your day special!!

Uncomfortable Van

This review is about the vehicle for the tour, which really ruined the experience. To be clear, the tour plan (Zaanse Schan and Giethoorn) was great. The tour guide, Kai, was wonderful. But the van was so uncomfortable. We were the last to get picked up, so we got stuck in the front on a bench seat next to Kai. There was no leg room and my husband and I were on top of each other. They should not have sold those seats. We paid just as much as the other 6 guests, but we got completely screwed on the seats.

An excellent tour. We saw some demonstrations of clog making; cheese making and learned about the Dutch windmills and all the uses. In the afternoon, we had a lovely boat ride and saw some beautiful thatched houses with an interesting narrative. What make this tour a delightful day out was due to the expertise of Liedse. He managed our pick up from the hotel with clear instructions. His additional information as we moved between the scheduled sites gave a better understanding of Dutch history and culture; I found the information about the canals and claiming of land from the water very interesting. He knew the best places for taking phots for that perfect background. Plenty of bathroom and food stops included.

This was a wonderful venue. The itinerary was great. The short lectures were very informative and interesting. We had plenty of time to take pictures, shop and experience the culture. Our guide Leidse was professional, respectful, personable, attentive and communicated clearly. He was intelligent and gave wonderful history/background/culture about Netherlands and the places we visited. He would answer our questions and had a sense of humor! We truly enjoyed today. Thank you. We highly recommend this venue!

Zane’s Schans was a bit of a tourist trap but still enjoyable. The best parts of the trip were seeing the countryside, the boat trip on the canal in Giethoorn, and our guide Reiner. Reiner was very enthusiastic and full of helpful information.

Absolutely wonderful trip made even more special due to our man of many talents Leidse. He was engaging, funny, courteous, with a ton of knowledge about not only Dutch but other world histories. Our guide Leidse was brilliant - super friendly, helpful, considerate and extremely knowledgeable - educating us not only on the Giethoorn but Netherlands in general. Geithoorn and Zaanse Schans small group tour

This was one of the highlights of our trip to the Netherlands! I really can't think of any negatives. Leidse, our guide, was amazing! The tour was 10 hours and packed full of sites. It's so nice when you get something with this much value for the cost. The small group was a plus as we saw huge buses parked at Zaanse Schans and we were glad that wasn't us! The hotel pick up and drop off, along with the itinerary and small group size made this an easy decision and one of our best memories!

My glowing review about this tour starts with the day before the tour. The operators contacted me directly to confirm the time and place of pickup. Our experience with this happening has probably been 40% despite the number of tour advertisements that state they will contact you. Leidse, our guide, provided us the exact description of the vehicle and was perfectly punctual at 8:30am with our hotel pickup. The of two of us were part of a small group that included five others for a total of seven. The tour does last a full day – we were dropped off at about 6:15pm – but the pacing and timing of everything was excellent. Leidse guided us through each location, but made sure to give us free time to roam on our own. We had a sit-down lunch halfway through the day and were allowed to sit however we wanted (with the group or on our own) with sufficient time to enjoy the great food at the restaurant. Leidse was one of the better guides we’ve had. His enthusiasm rang through the entire tour, his command of idiomatic English was phenomenal, and his knowledge of our culture was surprisingly deep (I did not expect to be able to talk NFL playoffs with anyone in The Netherlands). His experience as a guide also rang through. We were a small group, but we varied widely in age and relationship status and Leidse was able to converse with all of us. The most important aspect is to use this tour as an easy way to get out of Amsterdam. Zaanse Schanse was picturesque and rural and Giethoorn could be a model for the covers of fairy tale books. We walked away with a great impression of another side of The Netherlands and cannot speak highly enough of Leidse’s skill as a tour guide.

Wonderful tour with a wonderful guide! Zaanse Schans is a quaint village that presents a historic version of the Netherlands. Giethoorn was simply breathtaking. We also drove over a dike that is used to manage water levels which was very informative. Overall a great tour!
