We were treated like royalty from time we met Dianna until the end of our tour. She grew up in the midst of these windmills, has raised her family there and knows most all of the windmill community. What a lucky thing for us, especially as you see the crowd of as many as 70 people being herded about from other tour groups along with dozens of others wandering around trying to figure out where to go and looking lost. Best tour ever!

What an amazing insight to zannse schans with a personal tour. Diana is a lovely guide nothing is too much. Tour included windmills, clog and cheese factory. Also a little visit to see the royal lady. All I can say is Wow!! Maybe next time my husband will treat me. Definitely a worthwhile tour if you prefer a small group.

Diana was amazing! I picked this trip because it was a small group and my mother has a heard time hearing so I wanted something easy for her to be able to experience it all. Diana was so helpful and patient with us. She knows all the places to go and gives so much information about the area. It felt like a VIP experience with her and she knows how to navigate things to avoid the big crowds. She was amazing, the sights are beautiful and well worth every Euro!

Personal tour brings village to life, great communicator

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic tour with Diana. Her communication about meeting time and location was perfect and made you feel confident that you could count on this private tour operator. We were the only clients at this time so it was a private tour. The train ride was only 17 mins from Amsterdam Central and Diana had pre-purchased tickets for us. We just had to show up! The village was about a 15 minute walk from the train but Diana provided good background on the industrial history of the area including the use old windmills. You could smell the chocolate from the factory as you walked by. The village was quaint, and Diana provided a wonderful history of the industrial nature of the buildings and houses. We opted to pay the extra cost (5.50 Euro pp) to visit one working windmill which was fascinating. Diana had access to a private cheese making demonstration, and we enjoyed the short clog making. In more than 2.5 hours with us, Diana (who lives in and grew up in Zannse Schans), said her goodbyes after very clearly explaining how we would return to Amsterdam. Then we were free to explore more if we wanted. Diana really made this a great afternoon and is highly recommended.

Tour was excellent. The guide (Diana) is a local lady and has a passion for the area and looked after us so well. Working windmills are a treat to see and we enjoyed the clog and cheese presentations. All very Dutch and a must do. The 8.00am start was well worth making the effort in getting up early, as avoided the throngs of other tourists traveling by coach !
