Amazing experience, the guide was really friendly, the monastery was beautiful but the highlight for me was the hike up Montserrat mountain, I went on the long hike and must say the views on the hike were amazing

A pleasant hike

At the meeting point, you get driven in a minibus straight to the monastery, where the tour begins. The first hour or so is spent in this area were the guide gives you the history and you can visit the basilica. The hike is a 5km loop which takes about 2hrs in total. 1 hour up and 1 hour down. It's quite easy, you don't need to be a hiker to do this. No walking boots or poles are necessary, trainers are fine. Just bring; a breathable t-shirt, a light jacket, some water and snacks. Our guide, Franco, was great. He was very pleasant, chatty and knowledgeable about the Monastery and rock formations. The tour is worth getting up early to avoid the crowds. When we got back to the minibus at 13:00hrs, the area was crazy busy!

Franc is amazing, on time great guide and I loved the hike. It's about a 3 km hike and a total distance is about 6km Including the montserrat visit

We had a great experience and tour. Our guide Frank was very, very good. The place is very pretty, only thing going downhill walking is kind of strenuous so we should put something on the description and people will know as so many can't walk or have some disabilities. Other than that is a worth experience

My Barcelona highlight- a day away from the crowds up in the mountain air. Its only an hours drive out of the city & it felt like a million miles away. Montserrat is a very spiritual placed if you get away from the heaving crowds at the monastery which id well worth a visit. Loved the Black Madonna & her story . My group hiked up to the peak then took the stairs down from the funicular station- you do need to be reasonably fit as although the uphill path is wide & winding the downhill is steep & uneven. Loved loved loved the hike.

Definitely real hiking and not a simple hike. Truly was the way to see Montserrat. The hike afforded stunning views that most of the tourists never got to see.

This was an incredible experience. It is a challenging hike and not for the faint of heart. Wear hiking boots/shoes. The views are amazing. We had a fantastic guide who was funny and had great stories.

Our guide, Jordi, was very passionate about the mountains and he led a great tour! It was nice to not have to worry about taking public transportation to Montserrat, and we got there very early and beat most of the crowds. I would say if you are more interested in seeing more of the monastery or the museum there, this is not the tour for you, since we only spent a brief time in the monastery. Hiking at the top and seeing the old hermit caves was very fun! The hike down provided some excellent views of the mountains and of the monastery. We did get a bit of extra time to see the market there as well. Overall, a good experience.

Quick look at the Monastery before the crowds arrive which is great. This tour focuses on the mountain and hiking more. Then definitely get tickets to take funicular to the top to then hike further up. You’ll get plenty of hiking on top of the mountain before then descending the trail you skipped riding up. Vladimir was our guide and he was great. A little time at the end to shop and back to Barcelona-we loved it!

This was an excellent tour! Get a taste of history and amazing views. It was Saturday so there were crowds but got to enjoy the nice market outside of the monestary. The hike was good exercise. Still have time to enjoy the evening in Barcelona. Very knowledgeable guide. Highly recommend!

I took this tour with a friend and we had a great time! Our guide was very good. It was a small group of 8, and started early AM which was good considering the heat and hiking. This tour is great for active people who like to hike; make sure to wear workout clothes and hiking/sports shoes & bring water, as there is a 2 hour hiking and some of the trail requires hiking rocky hills.. So this is not walking but really hiking for 2 hours. The remainder of the time we visited the Monastery and ended the tour by the little area with a few local markets and a cafe.

A good, rather serious, hike; knowledgeable, well spoken and pleasant guide; stunning scenery, of course; and, the wonder of the monastery. I understand why it could not be, but it would have been better to have been clear that the statue of the Black Virgin could not be visited.
