Hit the waters of Cancun without prior certification during this small-group scuba diving tour, which includes an introductory lesson. Suited for beginners, the hands-on excursion covers the ins and outs of diving during a half-day lesson. Then, venture into the ocean at two diving locations: the sculpture-filled MUSA Underwater Museum and the iconic underwater reefs of Manchones.

What To Expect

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Near public transportation
  • Not recommended for pregnant travelers
  • Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
  • People with asthma, heart or brain problems, high blood pressure, lung lesions, diabetes, epilepsy, or any surgery less than 1 year are not allowed to dive, unless you bring a medical authorization signed by a physician who specializes in your disease.
  • Keep in mind you need to rest between 18 - 24 hours after diving before take an airplane
  • For this activity people must know how to swim
  • As the activity is from a boat, we suggest take anti-nauseas pills, 1 or 2 hours before getting on the boat for best effects.
  • Sunscreen/sunblock are not allowed for coral protection
  • Children must be a minimum of 10 years old and maximum age 65 years old
  • Morning Itinerary: Check-in 8:00 AM; Boat departure 9:30 AM; Return to dock 12:15 PM;
  • Afternoon Itinerary: Check-in 10:30 AM; Boat departure 12:15 PM; Return to dock around 3:30 PM;
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

As a certified diver diving with buddies who aren’t, this is a great in between for a group with varying levels of experience. Guides were awesome and the training before hand was great for the people doing it for the first time. Great time overall would highly recommend for groups who are doing it for the first time or groups with different experience levels.

Better experience that expected!

Me and my wife went here as part of our honeymoon. We have been snorkeling, but never scuba diving, and trying to get certified in the states before spring was a nightmare. Thankfully, this is one of 2 places we found that will take uncertified beginners out, but this is the only one that provided wetsuits. You meet there by the pool, get some safety information, then suit with wetsuits, flippers, and gear and start doing guided practice in the pool. The instructor was very patient and helpful, and gave us extra time in the pool (which I needed to get the breathing down) until we were comfortable. There were 2 dive sites, both about 30 to 40 feet down. After practice, you get on the boat and ride out past Isla Mujeres and go for your first dive. They walk you through everything from exiting the boat, lowering yourself down, equalizing pressures, etc. The instructor kept a close eye on us and assisted if anybody had problems (either with descending, water in mask, etc), and even offered to get pictures of us underwater with our camera! The instructor/guide definitely wanted to make sure that you get the most from your experience; seems very selfless on their part. Better than expected on this experience.

What a memorable experience! This was 10/10 the instructions at the start helped us for when we went into the ocean which was a big help to know the basics. The instructions helped so much I felt very comfortable going in. When we got to isle Mujeres where we started with the underground museum so cool we saw so many fish! A turtle so many things it was incredible! Once we finished that we went to the coral reef and that was magnificent! So many fish it was truly breathtaking. I’ve snorkelled before and this is an entire different level! I recommend 1000 times!!

This experience was amazing! Our instructor Lorena was super knowledgeable and calm. She guided us (group of 4) through basic skills and checked in on us throughout the dive. The wild life underwater was surreal. So many fishes, lobsters. We even saw a nurse shark and some stingrays. Highlight of our trip for sure! Don't forget to bring a go pro to capture the memories!

We had an incredible time on this trip. Our guide was very friendly and professional as were all the staff. They provided us with amazing service. We did 2 dives and both were so extraordinary and something I never thought I'd do. Highly recommend this company.

This was great. My wife and I had never been scuba diving before. Alfredo was very kind, patient and thorough in his training. Instruction in their pool was a lifes and saver. We had been snorkeling before. Jus5 that experience was helpful. My wife wasn't able to go the bottom, but still enjoyed her time. I went down on with dives. Once I got the initial panic out if my system I was fine.

An Amazing Underwater Experience!!

The instructors and guides were very experienced, knowledgeable and patient. We learned so much and had plenty of time in the pool to get comfortable with the equipment and breathing through the regulator. It was a 30 min boat trip to the dive area. We took advantage of the photography, the guide took many pictures of us underwater leaving us to focus on this new experience. Cost for an emailed link to our photos was $80US. If you or anyone going with you gets motion sickness take medication, my husband had a patch and took med before and still was sick from the movement of the boat and while in the water. He got through it but others may struggle. Everyone including our guide, other participants and boat driver were super nice and helpful. Plan to tip your guide and boat driver since they provide such amazing service. We did two dives one at the art installation Muse and another at the reef. Both were amazing sites and different enough that you will want to see them both. We saw colorful fish, puffer fish, big fish, sea turtles, lobsters, lots of other amazing plant life. Highly recommend.

My son got interested in SCUBA diving last year when we visited Key West, so we decided to do it once again at Cancún. I made a reservation for 4 of us but my wife had to drop off due to lady’s special days each month. Unlike what my daughter speculated, the diving trip was extremely wonderful. The lady diving guide has 18-year experience and apparently is very familiar with the underwater area we explored. Three of us followed her and went over many beautiful places, saw a lot of fishes, lobsters and a giant turtle, and we took many beautiful photos. We have decided to get a certificate this summer from a local diving school so we can go to more places later. The only little inconvenience is there is no parking place in the inn for diving participants, it took while for us to find a parking spot nearby

Wonderful experience especially if you have done an intro dive before. Two forty minutes dives in the open ocean and a short 15 minute dive in a pool to ensure safety. Lorena was an amazing instructor. She pointed out all the critters and gave us time to explore too. Fun times but take precautions if you get seasick easily as the trip out was a little rough.

Our family of five had a wonderful trip. Lorena was an excellent guide and instructor. She made us feel both safe and prepared. Half of us had never dived in the open water before, and she walked us through everything step by step so we felt confident. Both dives were full 40 minutes and absolutely beautiful. We saw many incredible fish including an eel, lion fish, starfish and more. I highly recommend this trip it was a great experience and a fantastic memory for our family!

The tour guide was thorough and made sure we get basic maneuvers right. Saw some underwater sculptures in first dive. Second dive was more close to corals where we saw a small shark and a turtle.

My partner was afraid of going into the ocean to begin with and by the time we were done, our instructor called me. She seems almost a little too comfortable in the water. When you have a good instructor, you feel safe following her.

Although. my wife was not able to dive because she is diabetic she was able to ride out to the dive sites with us. Be sure to check on medical prohibitions before booking. They are fairly restrictive. Having said that, I think this was one of the best entertainment values going. The pre-dive lessons were fun and informative. And our dive master, Loraine was absolutely fantastic. The dives were fun and the fish and archeological sights were fascinating. Kudos to the whole team at go dive!

Highly recommend!!!!! Felt safe and dives were beautiful despite the rough seas. Visibility was good and we saw lots of fish. Dive instructor took amazing pictures that we were able to purchase.
