What To Expect

Begin with pickup at your Cancun or Riviera Maya hotel, then travel inland towards Valladolid. Make your first stop of the day at the X-Cajum cenote, known as the ‘Place of Sounds,’ and cool off in the limestone-filtered water. Continue to a buffet restaurant for a traditional Yucatec meal—this is the perfect time to try a variety of local dishes in one place, sampling roast suckling pig, lime soup, or beans and rice.

See Santo Domingo convent, which was built with stones from a Maya city in 1646, and learn the history of the Caste War, when Maya rebels captured the town of Uayma. Stop by a Maya village to meet the local priest in an old fashioned palapa, where you’ll learn about Maya customs, culture, religious beliefs, and medicine from a local perspective.

Arrive in Valladolid at roughly 4pm, and visit the city center landmarks, including the Sisal convent, church, and Palace murals, then tour the small communities of Izamal and Mani before returning to Cancun, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
