We've booked the tour to spend a day outside the city (Dublin) and it didn't disappoint us. Our guide, Robert, was fantastic and had a good sense of humour. The weather was perfect and the walk (short hike) was just what we'd expected. Beautiful views, historical insight and good company (we were a group of 9). We got back to Dublin a little earlier than planned, which was ok as everyone seemed a little tired in the end.

Great small group experience!
Jennifer_S, Sep 2023
Everything about this trip was great. Our tour guide was friendly and shared a lot of info along the way. I like that there were a few stops and never on the bus too terribly long between stops.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Thank you very much Jennifer for the excellent review.
A worthwhile day on our travels in Ireland.
stephen_l, Aug 2023
The history of the Wicklow Mtn. Area; its clans and the role played on shaping Ireland was quite informative. A splendid day all in all even with heavy fog in the higher elevations.

Relaxing tour close to Dublin
SilviaMatilda_A, Aug 2023
The tour started with a bit of a misunderstanding as at the time we booked the tour, Viator advertised it as having some trekking for the first part of the tour however when we got to our first stop, we were told that this is not the case and that instead we will have to visit the Powerscourt Garden at our pace. Whilst this was disappointing for us at the time, we note that now the page on Viator has been updated to include the correct itinerary. The car drive through the Wicklow Mountains was very exciting with several places which deserved to be photographed at every corner and we had a few short stops so we were able to do so. Once we got to Glendalough we were given indications as to what we can visit. From our perspective there was not enough time to allow us to see both lakes and actually enjoy them so having maybe an additional 30-40 minutes stay here. Overall, apart from the issue at the start of the tour, we did enjoy the places we visited so it was well worth our time
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Thank you Silvia for the positive feedback and I'm sorry for any complications or misunderstandings.

Fun but could have been better
Marta_D, Aug 2023
The most memorable parts of the tour were the ones in the national park but the time we spent there was too short compared to the time we were in places that were not as beautiful
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Thank you Marta for the feedback , we do spend quite some time in the National Park.
A worthy time spent
Erik_H, Jun 2023
We enjoyed this tour quite a bit, and Aidan was a personable host. There was a bit of confusion at the start due to a reservation issue, so a few people who thought they were going somewhere else looked rather dejected as we headed off without them. The initial walk did not take place in Wicklow Mountains National Park but at a patch of national forest popular with dog walkers along the way. However, Aidan's sense of humor about the weather (a bracing wind and inconvenient rain overtook us atop a rocky peak) and his knowledge of the area, particularly its historical and ecological status, helped make it worthwhile. Hours later those of us with remaining energy did cross into the lower part of Wicklow on foot from Glendalough, a walk that culminated in a great view of a lake surrounded by mountainous terrain we were not destined to witness up close. Aidan got us back safely despite traffic, and then poof — the tour was over and everyone disembarked without ceremony or even anything resembling a farewell. But that's all right.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thank you very much Erik for the very positive review and I'm delighted you enjoyed your tour with Aidan.

Wonderful Scenery
Joe_B, Jun 2023
Lovely group tour. Three separate tours on the minibus in the morning - horse riding, Gardens trip and hike. After dropping the first two groups off, we headed for our hike. Lovely panoramic views of the Dublin coastline. Following the walk (with an unexpected detour), we picked up the other group and headed for lunch in Enniskerry. After lunch we headed for Glendalough with a scenic stop on the way. Lovely trip
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thank you Joe for the very positive review
Good Tour
Jeffery_K, Jun 2023
First, Gillian is amazing. Ask for her! She created a warm and welcoming environment. She has a wicked sense of humor. Gillian shared many details about every day Irish life, which I found fascinating. The tour, it's beautiful. You will see diverse landscapes from the mountains surrounding Dublin, to higher in the mountains, to small towns. It's worth leaving the business of Dublin to see the countryside. The only draw back, the tour bills itself as a semi private excursion. This is true. The smaller group is great. The downside is the bus. For us in the states, think church van. Small windows, difficult to take in the country side if seated in the middle. If this is of importance to you, book a tour with a larger group on a motor coach/bus....why? The windows are larger.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thank you very much for the positive review and Im delighted that you enjoyed your tour with us.
Small group Wicklow Tour
James_E, May 2023
Richard was our driver guide and he was awesome. Provided a lot of info and many stories about Ireland, the Rebellion, the Guinness family, the Bogs in Wicklow… While it was a full day, he kept us moving and on time. I would definitely recommend the small group tour vs the large 50 people bus tours. Also, we didn’t think the 1/2 day tour (morning or afternoon) would be enough time so we were glad we did the full day 8 hr tour. The lunch at Poppies in Enniskerry Village was very good - homemade Irish quiches and Shepherds Pie. We had an hour for lunch, plenty of time. Cost of lunch was not included in the tour but was very reasonable. Of course you could choose to bring your own lunch and beverage if you want
Response from Host, May 2023
Thank you very much James for the excellent review and I will pass along your kind words to Richard
Guide skipped major highlights of the trip
Edith_N, May 2023
The guide didn’t follow half the itinerary. The main highlight - Dublin Mountains hike with coastal views - did not happen. Lunch at the victorian village did not happen. I purchased this trip specifically to do the mountain hike for the views shown in the cover photos on their site. The driver did not even acknowledge or apologize for changing our program, taking us on a tour we didn’t want and not giving us a chance to book this hike with someone else. I had only one day to do this hike and I felt that i was cheated out of my opportunity. It is not ok.
Response from Host, May 2023
Hi Edith, I'm very sorry to hear this. I will have a word with your guide that you had to see what happened.
Picturesque all the way
RODNEY_D, May 2023
I throughly enjoyed the tour of Wicklow mountains and Glendalough. Johnny was a great guide and we had ample time at each stop for photos and/or coffee etc. the scenery was gorgeous. I guess the only drawback was the lack of storage space on the minibus. I had to hold my camera bag on my lap all the way. But that was minor considering the whole experience.
Response from Host, May 2023
Thank you very much Rodney for your excellent review. We small buses for the small roads up around the national park.
Well worth the all day trip!
Randy_K, May 2023
We enjoyed the hiking and the guides Irish bog/pete information part of the tour. Had no idea bogs are so important to the Irish way of life.
Response from Host, May 2023
Thank you very much Randy for the excellent review.
