The offshore crater of Molokini has some of the best snorkeling spots in Maui—if you can reach them. Thankfully, this half-day snorkeling tour heads straight for Molokini and Turtle Town nearby on a 53-foot (16 meters) Lani Kai II boat with a 20-foot (6 meters) waterslide. Visit two snorkeling locations, get the chance to spot whales, and enjoy onboard breakfast and lunch. Whales sightings are seasonal in nature, from November through April.

What To Expect

Arrive before your snorkeling tour begins so you can check in and sign waivers, ensuring a safe and stress-free experience.

Many travelers miss out on the excellent snorkeling opportunities of the offshore crater of Molokini because a boat transfer is required. However, with this tour, all logistics are taken care of as a boat transfer is included, as well as a delicious continental breakfast to start your day.

To help you get off the boat with ease—and to inject some fun into the tour too—the boat has a 20-foot waterslide attached. So you can simply grab your provided snorkeling gear, then jump into the water near Molokini Crater for your first snorkeling experience.

After some time in the water—the trip continues to the second snorkeling spot—Turtle Town. Here, you can snorkel once again, then reward your efforts with an onboard lunch before heading back to the mainland.

Saw Whales, turtles, the crater is full of beautiful coral and many fish. Water slide is bonus fun! We were able to enjoy a way less crowded space as we hit turtle town first and then the crater. Mahola captain Spenser, Kristen and Dani 🤙

Excellent, very professional crew. They knew what they were doing and took time to make sure equipment fit properly. Very windy day but they were able to find us good safe snorkelling. Provided Dramamine and ginger candy (at no cost) for those who were feeling the effect of being on rough water.

We had so much fun on this trip. The crew was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the area and ocean. The breakfast was a simple spread of muffins and fruit with juice and coffee. Lunch was sandwiches and pasta salad. All fresh and delicious. They had everything you needed to enjoy your day. Would definitely recommend and go again!

I’ve done several of these trips and I have to say that this “ma and pa” sized one is a Great boat (layout) with a great professional crew that knows how to run the boat and trip. Waves were huge, quite rough, and they changed up locations to make it fun. They know the islands and it paid off for everyone. Overall: low key, you can actually relax, straightforward solid communication and crew (Greg, Emily, and Dani) all made this trip a great experience for me and my fam. And if you are wondering, everybody loved the slide! It isn’t cheesy when you realize that it’s seriously really fun!
