Hana Rainforest Helicopter Flight with Landing from Maui

After being advised by our daughter to avoid the long, stress filled day of driving to Hana we opted to book a helicopter to view the sights without the tension and we’re so grateful we did. Jake Harmon was our pilot with 19 years experience flying which relieved our first flight chitters. He explained all the safety policies and how to secure our harnesses and life vests. (Much of the flight is over water). There were 5 passengers on our flight - there is seating in two rows with three passengers in front with Jake and four in back. Each passenger has their own headset and microphone to easily hear all the commentary of the sights and the oooo’s and ahhhh’s of the other passenger's taking in the amazing sights. We chose this flight because it’s the only one that actually lands in Hana at a private taro field in the rainforest! Jake landed expertly on a dime and broke out the Champaign for his guests to enjoy as we hiked around the area checking out a stream from a gorgeous waterfall - giant monkey pod tree and bananas on the branch. After 30 minutes, and waiting out a little rain under the sturdy cabana - we took off for our flight home. Jake had a great, well timed play list including Jurassic park when we approached the area the movie was filmed and of course music from Top Gun on our Maverick helicopter as we returned for landing. Jake’s commentary on the flight was just right - meaning informational and answering questions but not too much chatter to fill space which allows the guests to take in the beauty while relaxing and enjoying the view! Maverick has a lovely terminal with a welcoming friendly staff; low pressure photo sales after your flight which of course we purchased. All-round great experience !
