Overview

Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Mt. Vesuvius are the three headliners near Naples, but slow trains and tricky roads make it impossible to visit all three in one day. Our driver Luca was very funny and told us many cool stories! The only thing I didnt like is the price, it should include the entrance tickets as well for 130 Euros per person, but the driver was great.

Three attractions in one day is too rush

It was very rush to have visited 3 places in 8 hours. We were only given 1 hour 45 mins to explore Pompeii. Driver supposed to be giving us some commentary about the attractions but none given. And it would have been nice if the tour operators told us there would be no time for lunch and we could have packed our lunch with us. I think one day to visit 2 attractions would have been more enjoyable.

Luca was a good driver and prompt at meeting points. But i was expecting more information about sites. There was no notice about toilets or lunch options. The van just deposited us at entrance with instructions where and when to meet.

Dear Ellen, Thank you very much for your feedback :) We are sorry you couldn't find the toilets located at every site entrance and the many bars and restaurants located just outside of the entrance to Pompeii, in the main square, or the bar at the entrance of the peak of the Vesuvius. Thank you for stressing out exactly what we include in the tour, which is explanations on board, which means you will be brought to every site, shown the entrance, so you can freely visit. It's also true that if the drivers and assistants had to give out ALL the infos about the sites it would take a very long time and that's why we always encourage guests to make specific questions if they wish to know something in particular. We unfortunately do not agree about the minimization of our tour as it offers pick up and drop off ( the driver actually brought you to you accomodation, even being a shared tour and he gave the group more time at each stop), comfortable seating, an effective and safe journey, otherwise not being doable on your own, explanations on board and tickets to the Vesuvius.

The trip was great. We made it to Herculaneum right when it opened and there was no crowd at all when we walked through it. Vesuvius was cloudy when we got there, but it cleared up once we were at the summit, which gave us a great view of the city of Naples. Our favorite though has to be Pompeii. It was huge and historical. Luca was a great driver with funny stories and extensive knowledge about Naples, Pompeii, and Herculaneum

This is full day of walking and hiking. Be prepared to put on the miles. It was with the money and our driver and guide were amazing. Bring a snack due to the activity.

We wholeheartedly thank Cesare for his excellent driving, getting us everywhere on time and safely, in order to reach location to be able to make the most of each stop at Pompeii, Vesuvius, and Herculaneum. We also recommend you take advantage of the guides at Pompeii, as our guide, Rosa, has two degrees in history and had spent three years at the archeological site during university studies. Didn't get to see it. Called me the nite of and asked if I could do the next day bc no one booked it but me. Asked if I wanted to do Pompeii, Sorrento and another one. Also they cover my Pompeii cost. I did it just bc it was last minute and really wanted to see Pompeii. Overall, the Pompeii, Sorrento tour with Ceasar was nice, I didn't like it bc I wanted to see herculaneum and Vesuvius instead. So no good review here.

No guide at sites

Even bad weather couldn't ruin it!

The trip was amazing. There ended up only being 3 of us, but we had a private car and our driver, Salvatore, was the best. We couldn't do Vesuvius because of the weather and rock slides, but that just meant extra time at Pompeii and Herculaneum, which was perfect for me. Would definitely recommend.

I was cancelled the day before. Beware, if you really want to see these to make an alternative plan! Evidently they can cancel on short notice but you need to give them 48 hrs!

Really Fun Tour!

I’m giving 4-Stars only because Noemi arrived late and was not responsive. I was worried if she was arriving and sent several msgs but did not get a response. I asked one of the other tour guides and she was the one to inform us that Noemi and Francesco were running late which was okay. Overall, we had a great experience because Noemi was very pleasant and informative. She was very funny too and allowed our group to decide if we wanted to get lunch or not. They brought us to a restaurant where we had the best pizza! Unfortunately it was raining part of the day so some of us did not want to climb up Mt. Vesuvius. There was nothing to see as it was foggy and very windy. Some still had the option to go a they seemed to have enjoyed the experience nonetheless. The bus was also clean and comfortable.

Tour was excellent, but my voucher indicated Mt Vesuvius was included and then we were told it wasn’t, requiring us to purchase premium tickets at the site. Guides were great and tour was informative.

We thought we were getting guided tours of all the sites. What we actually got was a driver that took us to the locations and spoke about the upcoming site. He then dropped us off and we were on our own to pay for additional guided tours. That is not what we expected. At Herculaneum the private tours were very expensive so we opted for audio self guided tours which were not well explained on how to use them. Even the computer savvy young people had a difficult time understanding what was needed. The very best part was when our driver told us we could pay an additional 5E and get a guided tour of Pompeii. Virginia was EXCELLENT! She was very knowledgeable and informative. Just what I was expecting to begin with. We would never have gotten to be with her without the driver going above and beyond to help us. However, I am sure everyone booking that tour would’ve been lucky enough to get her services.
