Zero English speaking tour guide

I booked the tour with "English speaking tour guide, but ended up zero English speaking. All I had to do was using google translator every single sentence and other tourists (who is not Portuguese mother tongue) were helping translating all information to us. However, the tour guide was super friendly and active. But I missed lots of good information by the way.

Great hike to Telegraph Rock! Robson was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and also fun to be around. He offered to take pictures at the top and provided some local tips on the drive back. Our group was mixed between English, Spanish, and Portuguese speakers. Robson communicated well with all of us. Recommend 10/10!

I was picked up promptly, but very uncomfortable ride to start. The vehicle supposedly holds 10 people, but really should be 8 comfortably as I was squished in between people. The hike was cool. Waited 2 hours to take 2 minutes worth of pictures. It was a Sunday, so probably busier on weekends. Definitely takes a lot out of you. I would say this should only be attempted by people in fairly good shape or avid hikers. The ride was better back since two people opted to leave because the hike was too much for them. Something nice to do but for two hours of hiking and two hours of waiting, can't say I'd do it again.

The morning of our tour it was pouring with rain. Our driver was an hour late picking us up because he had to put a cover over the jeep to keep us from getting wet. The hike was a bit muddy but surprisingly not too slippery. When we got to the top it was cloudy and you couldn’t see anything but we waited at the top for an hour and the clouds cleared up enough for us to see the beautiful view. The perk of it being a rainy day was that we only had one other group come behind us so we had the whole thing mostly to ourselves. That left plenty of time to take photos and hang out. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helped us to get amazing photos despite the clouds. I would highly recommend this tour no matter the weather.

The hike to telegraph stone was absolutely treacherous. Absolutely sucked. Going up hill pretty much the whole hike, which took about an hour with my group. However, once you get to the stone, it was worth it. Get there early if you can though because we were about 6th in line and it took about an hour of waiting before it was our turn to take pictures

Great experience. I think we underestimated the physical ability needed to do this, but nonetheless we made it to the top. It was lovely to get out trekking in nature. My only downfall would be the guide, he was used to the walk and therefore found it easy, but sometimes didn't wait around for slower members of the group

Not what they described it to be

I have been using viator for quite some time now because in the past all of their tours have been top tier and we'll described. All except this one. This is not a jeep adventure, this is no 45 minute walk. I was thinking the tour was a bit more personal because there is only so much people a jeep could hold. It was me, my sister and a friend. This is a tour with a bus full of people with different fitness levels. This is a 45 min to 1 hour hike (if you're in top shape) through very dangerous terrain 1000 feet above sea level. I was not able to complete this tour because there were very fit and young people that I had to keep up with and I started to sense that I was slowing some of the group down , not all though, but I opted to not complete the tour. Even the tour guide, although he was very nice was a bit misleading. He told us the stairs at the beginning of the tour was the hardest part this unfortunately was far from the truth. Please be aware before you book and do some research which I failed to trusting the description of this tour by viator.

This was a tough hike! All uphill and through the jungle but it was well worth every minute! Rafael was the best guide. He was very patient with us, very experienced and quite funny. The mosquitoes are heavy and i usually attract them wherever I go. But I doused in big repellent 3 times on the hike and was ok. A must do! I am small but not physically active but I made it to the top!

I had an awesome time and experience during this tour. Flavio was awesome! He was super friendly, kind, cool, respectful, knowledgeable and patient. He went the extra mile to make us Confortable. In this trip I also had a lot of fun, made many new friends, and took many memorable pictures. This tour was an experience. I am glad I gave myself the opportunity to go and face any fear.

Dangerous

The day before my scheduled tour, it poured rain the entire day and into the night in Rio. I was on another tour where we were slipping and sliding on solid ground, so there's no way I was going on a hike in those conditions. This tour company did not offer me the opportunity to reschedule and instead went forward with a dangerous, post rain hike. It's a real pity that they don't value customer safety.

Best tour ever!!! If you love hiking like I do, go for it, but be ready for a workout. Tour guide was super fit and kept the group together. This is not a path or leisure tour. Bring hiking boots/shoes, water, camera for the gorgeous views. Pickup from hotel and communication worked well. I highly recommend this tour for experienced hikers.

We stayed in the lobby of the hotel from 5:45 - 7:30 AM, no one ever showed-up to get us. So, I wouldn't not recommend this tour to anyone... I I wasted my time and still not sure how I'm going to get my money back.

Beautiful scenery once reached the top. Friendly guide. However, a lot to walk on difficult terrain. Wasn’t expecting that much walking.

The trip was great except for the fact that you must be really fit to teach the rock. 2 of my associates gave up because of the physical endurance needed to reach the destination. AGAIN, you must be physically fit to hike and to climb rocks and stairs. Reaching the destination, you will feel accomplished and satisfied with the view.
