Loved this trip!! so many nice views, the tours were entertaining and knew how to keep the ambiance good and not boring! You do spend two hours at chichen itza so make sure to buy hats and take water!!
Response from Host, Mar 2024
So happy you enjoyed your trip and the stunning views! The tours sound like they were a hit, keeping everything lively. And thanks for the pro tip on Chichen Itza—hats and water are essentials, for sure. Really appreciate you sharing your experience. Can't wait to welcome you back for more adventures. Safe travels until then!
Great tour staff!
Vanessa_F, Jan 2024
Though a very long day the highlight was Kulkucan at Chichen Itza and Mayan Community Village. The tour team of Chelino Armando and Fabian were excellent. A short driving tour of Valladolid and more time at Chichen Itza would’ve been preferred as 2 hrs was too little at this magnificent site.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Thank you so much for your feedback! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the highlights of Kukulkán at Chichén Itzá and the Mayan Community Village during your tour. Your kind words about our team members Chelino, Armando, and Fabián are greatly appreciated. We understand your desire for more time at Chichén Itzá, and we'll take this into consideration for future tours. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again in the future for an even more memorable experience!
It was a very long trip. ...
amitagargbapna, Jan 2024
It was a very long trip. Some of it was a waste of time like visiting the "Mayan Village" where I felt like I got cheated, I haggled an item down to 50% of their asking priced and still felt cheated. However, The food was great. The guide was mediocre, not the most helpful.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
We appreciate you sharing your feedback about your experience. We're sorry to hear that some aspects of the tour didn't meet your expectations. The visit to the "Mayan Village" is an opportunity to learn about local culture, but we understand that perceptions can vary. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the food and value your input about the guide. We will take your comments into consideration to improve our services and provide more enriching experiences in the future. We hope you can consider traveling with us again, as we're always working to offer high-quality experiences to our customers.
Mixed bag. Pros & Cons
VishalJawa, Dec 2023
Mixed bag. Pros: 1. you save money with this tour operator, it’s cheaper than others and also includes the tickets for Chichen Itza. 2. Didn’t have to wait in the long line for visiting the monument. 3. Customer support at the time of booking was prompt. 4. The guide shared the Mayan knowledge and also shared some Mayan Artefacts that we could touch and feel. The guide was entertaining if you get the hang of Spanglish. Cons: 1. You get a what you pay for. They probably try to compensate the cost by taking bus load of people to a sales shopping first thing in the day, spending precious time even before lunch and visit to any place. 2. That results in much less time available for rest of the day. Although there was enough time at Chichen Itza but hardly any time for the Cenote. And it was dark by the time we reached in the evening by 5 pm. 3. The tour guide had to mix English and Spanish, which I understand was needed since there was a mix of people. 4. Time organisation was not good because evening food break was not provided. So after 1 pm lunch time, the only next break we had was when we reached the hotel at around 10 pm when the hotel kitchen was closed. So I hated the fact that my family was hungry for that long. So, if you prefer to have more time spent at a place that matters most, then prefer another tour. But if you prefer to save money then this wasn’t terrible. I would not recommend it or do it again because my family did not have enjoy it. The places were fantastic though: Chichen Itza & Cenote.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
We appreciate your positive feedback about our tour and the opportunity to save money. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed the information shared by our guide about the Mayan culture and learning opportunities. We understand your concerns regarding the time spent on shopping and the time limitation at the cenote, which is due to government regulations allowing only one hour at that location. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced due to this and appreciate your understanding of these restrictions that are beyond our control.
Excellent tour led by Carla
Mahesh_V, Dec 2023
This was an excellent trip led by our guide Carla. We’re promptly picked by 7:00 AM as mentioned in the email sent to us earlier. Our pickup was from Cancun downtown. BTW you should install WhatsApp application on your phones for better communication. But after picking us up we were taken to another place and then change of bus that took almost an hour. Chichen Itza is in different timezone than Cancun. In the bus Carla explained nicely about the history behind Mayan Calendar. This was done so that people who want their Birth Certificate with Mayan Calendar can get it in time. This is optional. After that we head to Mayan Village where they’ve have Shaman perform some activity and later we were led into a store to buy some souvenirs if we want. Nice to see the culture. I saw a little push to buy stuff from the store so that they can survive. The prices here were little high. Similarly at bathroom there are people providing you with tissue or pointing to empty urinal/stall you can use in exchange for a tip (which is unnecessary). Then we eat lunch in the village. It’s bus by bus eating, till 1st bus has finished you need to wait. There was little rush and some of the dishes finished. If you ask for a water bottle here the charge was 50 pesos but if you ask the same to bus operator it is 20 pesos. From there we head to Chichen Itza the main attraction of this trip. But by the time we arrived it was afternoon and sun was on top of us. It’s good we visited in US winter December so we were spared a little but if you go in middle of summer it might be very hot. Be prepared with hats, sunblock etc. Also they try hard to sell sunblock and bug repellent in the bus sighting the reason that sunblock/bug repellent we have is not environment friendly and not legally allowed. The time management was excellent and bus ran smoothly. The tour guides and bus operator really work hard to make sure they’ve counted everyone before leaving. We bought a souvenir from street vendor and reduction in price was almost 250-300 %. So you may need to bargain hard with multiple vendor to get good price. At Chichen itza the entrance fees was paid and Carla explained the history well. It was an eye opening activity personally for me. Her English was good with little accent but understandable. From here we went to Cenote Saaml. The entrance fees is paid by the tour operators so we just need to enjoy the Cenote. Those who would like to swim will need to rent the lockers/life jacket. If at certain time more buses are there then there will big line to go down to Cenote as it is single lane going up or down and slippery. The cenote was beautiful so we took some pictures. There are restaurants of various types at the location. If you would like to buy quick bite you can do so. After that we went to town of Valladolid. Here there was group of Mayan kids that were performing some acts, very nice and eye opening for me. Here at few places you may need to pay for bathroom, tour guide will stop at a place where there is no charge for us. You may also try some food items if you want. There are again some shops for souvenir and items to purchase. Then we head back to Cancun. Since we were in downtown and not in resort/hotel zone area we were dropped last around 10:00 PM. The tip logic is like this, usually we’re supposed to tip $1 USD or 20 pesos. At the time of writing this $1 USD = 18 pesos. So at the time of tipping it make sense to tip in USD but if you’re purchasing stuff the rate is different $1 USD = 15 pesos so if you purchase in pesos you will gain. I carried pesos with me and it was easier. I don’t wanted to use my credit cards in an foreign setting. My thinking is that we should stop giving tips as this causes negative effect. We want workers to be paid better by their respective employers and tipping them has negative effect.

Thank you so much for your positive review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that our guide Carla provided you with excellent information about Mayan history and culture. We hope you've gained memorable memories from your visit to Chichen Itza and Cenote Saamal. We appreciate your support and your kind words. We hope to see you again in the future for another unforgettable adventure!
Cramped bus and tourist trap
Karin_G, Dec 2023
The bis was an hour late picking us up from the hotel. The 65 seater coach was ridiculously cramped for our 12 hour trip, with no leg room at all. The guide on the bus was informative, but for the full 3 + hours, never stopped talking. Started off with a group blessing by a shamen, a trip to the mayan tourist shop, followed by lunch with dancing. Chitchen itza was amazing and our guide was brilliant. We went to the cenote afterwards, but got there late, so never bothered to go swimming.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
We are in the high season, and you were informed in advance that the bus would be running late. The bus does indeed have space for 65 people, just as you mentioned. Why are you complaining that it's crowded when it's precisely a large bus designed to transport a significant number of people? If you didn't want that, you could have requested a private tour. It's worth noting that the bus capacity is specified. Furthermore, what did you expect when we're in the high season, and Chichén Itzá is one of the most visited sites in the world? The guide's job is to provide you with as much information as possible; that's why you pay for a guided tour, right? Many people are genuinely interested in the history. If you're not interested, then once again, you could have requested a private tour. Having access to all this information firsthand is very valuable, especially when it comes to understanding the history of the Maya civilization.
Great bang for the buck!
Hoshang_Z, Dec 2023
It is a very long day so be warned. However our tour guide Jorge was excellent and very good at both English and Spanish. He kept us entertained and informed during the long bus rides between stops. The souvenir shops are a bit unnecessary but I guess part of how they keep costs down. The classic tour does not include drinks so bring your own bottles of water or buy cheaply on the bus (200 peso). The first stop is to a mayan town and shaman energy ceremony. It's not obligatory to attend but a nice different experience of mayan culture. After a souvenir shop and then a buffet dinner. I was fine with the food. They made fresh mini churros. Chichenitza was fantastic and they provided an English guide for explaining the main structures. Lots of time for self exploration and pictures which I liked. The cenote has an additional cost of 4 usd for mandatory life jacket and 4 usd for a locker (a couple could share one locker). The cenote itself is quite large and you can dive in from a high point. The water is on the cooler side. The last stop is a colonial town with a big church. The central park has many food stalls so you can try some desserts. The ride home was straight forward even with a transfer to a smaller bus. Got to nap a little.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Thank you for sharing your review! We truly appreciate your feedback and are delighted to hear that you had a memorable experience on our tour. We're glad you enjoyed having Jorge as your tour guide, and we take pride in having guides who can provide informative and entertaining experiences during the bus rides. Your understanding about the souvenir shops and the option to bring your own drinks is appreciated. We strive to offer cost-effective options to our guests while still providing a great experience. It's wonderful to know that you found the Mayan town and shaman energy ceremony to be a unique cultural experience. We're also pleased to hear that you enjoyed the buffet dinner and the opportunity to explore Chichenitza with plenty of time for photos. Thank you for sharing details about the cenote, including the additional costs, and your description of the colonial town and its attractions. We're glad you had a smooth ride home and were able to get some rest. We hope to welcome you back on another adventure in the future. Thank you once again for choosing our tour!
Chichen Itza and the...
Lisa_P, Dec 2023
Chichen Itza and the Cenote were great. The hard sell at the Mayan village was tough to take. After not tipping some dancers who wanted to take pictures with us they said “Don’t come back” and laughed. The server told us repeatedly that the tip wasn’t included and there were other high pressure sales tactics. The rest of the day although long definitely made it worthwhile.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we're glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Chichen Itza and the Cenote. We sincerely apologize for any discomfort you experienced during your time at the Mayan village. Our intention is to provide a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all our guests, and it's clear that we fell short in this regard. We're sorry for the unwelcome pressure you felt regarding tipping and other sales tactics. We appreciate your honest feedback, and we will address these concerns with our staff to ensure a more pleasant and respectful experience for future visitors. We're pleased to know that the rest of your day was worthwhile, despite these issues. Your feedback helps us improve, and we hope that if you choose to visit us again in the future, you'll have a much more enjoyable experience. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you back.
Chichen Itza Tour - Amazing!
Jim_G, Nov 2023
It was a long day, about 14 hours in total, but the cenote was beautiful and Chichen Itza was amazing. The church in Vliadad (spelling?), was beautiful but it appeared to be closed to the public so you could not go inside. We could have skipped this stop and saved some time to our day. Overall, we enjoyed the tour and our tour guide was great. I would definitely recommend this but know you are in for a long day.
Response from Host, Nov 2023

Long day but worth it!
Susannah_Y, Oct 2023
We were looking forward to the trip and very pleased to be one of the last to be collected. The bus was about 45 minutes late collecting us but we were mostly kept informed. The coach was comfortable and there was constant commentary from the tour guide. Sadly, it was almost all in Spanish, with a very basic addition of English on occasion. They were keen to upsell the classic experience to the one including drinks, use of a towel and goggles (unnecessary) at the cenote and an umbrellaat Chichen Itza. My friend paid the extra but didn't feel it was worth it in hindsight. Our first stop was the Mayan village, where you were highly encouraged to purchase something. They take your picture as you get of the bus. It's so they can sell you a bottle of alcohol at the end, with your photo on it. The cenote was at the same location. You have to pay $3MXN for a life jacket and another $3 if you want a locker. The cenote was very impressive. The water is a little cold but you soon get used to it. There are lots of fish swimming about. Lunch is provided at the village. I eat most things but it was pretty basic. I recommend the tacos and the lime soup. Be aware, that none of the packages on offer include drinks with your meal. We had free time and there are hammocks to sit in or time to wander around. We stopped in Valladolid for 25 minutes. Popped in to the church briefly but not much time to explore the town properly. We then got back on the coach and went to Chichen Itza. We were fortunate to go in a small group with an English speaking guide who fave us a fantastic 45 minute tour. There is so much to see. We then had time to wander around and explore other parts. It's well worth the trip to see this ancient Mayan city. It's a long day - 12+ hours.

Lots of time wasting and tourist trapping - Not worth it.
Caio_V, Oct 2023
They leave very early, and then proceed to take as much time as possible to drive over straight to lunch, where they parade the tourists like cattle across overpriced an tourist shop. We actually got to Chichen Itza later in the afternoon. The Cenote is very nice, but we don't spend enough time in there because we spend the whole morning wasting time. Absolutely not worth it.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
We don't take as long as you mention to drive to lunch; it's the time it takes, and I remind you it's in another state of the republic. We're unsure why you're surprised when the itinerary is clearly detailed on the page, indicating you will visit the Mayan village. We recommend you read it thoroughly before taking the tour. The duration at the cenote isn't related to the day's itinerary; it's due to governmental reasons.
Great Experience

Book a small group tour that goes directly to Chichen Itza.
Gail_S, Oct 2023
The visit to Chichen Itza should have been a short visit but this tour stretched it into a 14-hour adventure. We were picked up promptly in a 20-passenger van at 6:30 a.m. and rode around the city to pick up others before being dropped off at a souvenir shop to be checked in again and distributed to a big tour bus. After riding for about 90 minutes, after listening to the tour guide who explained everything in three languages, we stopped at a Mayan shop for a bathroom break and lunch. We finally made it to Chichen Itza around 2 pm. A language-specific guided tour was provided, about an hour, and one hour of free time before heading back on the bus. The next stop was a 55-minute stop for a quick swim which requires a life vest for a $3 USD rental fee. We were finally dropped off at our hotel around 8:30 pm. Book a small group tour that goes directly to Chichen Itza as you don't need all the other stuff the tour company added to justify the cost. Wish I've known that before booking this tour.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
We appreciate your feedback; however, there are several points to clarify. It clearly states that the tour has a duration of 12 to 13 hours, which can be extended due to factors such as weather and traffic, among others. One observation, the guides speak in both English and Spanish; these are the only two languages available. We find it quite unusual that you did not notice when booking the tour that it includes not only a visit to Chichen Itza, as this information is clearly stated in the tour description, including inclusions, exclusions, itinerary, and images. We recommend that you thoroughly review what the tour entails to avoid any surprises. Best regards.
Unnerving, long and mismanaged
Allan_B, Oct 2023
UNNERVING and NOT A GREAT START !! Mini bus to a retail outlet in Cancùn. Literally herded in to the store like refugees with no explanation. Queued through middle of store, waited a couple of minutes then plucked out to form a new queue. Then boarded a coach for our FULL DAY TRIP. Core day was very good. BUT NOT A 12 hour excursion!! The information and guide at Chichen Itza was superb The lunch is an excuse for entrapment shopping. So took far longer than needed! The stop in the town is 15-20 mins as there is a parking restriction - so not really needed On the way back to Cancùn the tour guide sang the praises of the tour company “a massive company” hmmm 🤔 At 20:52 (14hours and 10 mins after our early morning pick up) 2 family groups (myself and my partner included) were invited to leave the coach. This was for a connection with mini bus to take us to our 2 respective hotels. DANGER AND ORGANISED MAYHEM!!! We stepped off coach onto the side of a motorway(freeway) and waited by a minibus for 5 minutes. There clearly was an issue. The minibus driver did NOT want us to board the mini bus. So - the explanation was - this was not the right minibus and our minibus had broken down?! So we were shepherded back on the the coach to laughter by the other holiday makers. WE HAD NO INFORMATION WHAT WAS GOING ON!! The coach proceeded to go all around the Punta Cancùn dropping off all the other guests. At 21:40 we crossed over the intersection where turning right would take us back to our hotel. So i walked to front of coach at 21:45 where i was informed the coach would take us back to our hotel. We were dropped off EVENTUALLY AT 22:40 16 hours after we started. A long gruelling day with a memorable visit in the middle. How this can be sold as a 12 hour day is beyond anyone on board. This “massive” tour operator had 4 hours to organise a minibus. Clearly they had comms to have the right venue and eta for our drop off. The teams failure meant another 90minutes stuck on a coach unnecessarily. Not good!!
Response from Host, Oct 2023
First of all, nobody here is a "refugee." If you are referring to the check-in process where you wait for a few minutes for bus organization, you are using a term that is completely out of place and vulgar. It clearly states that the tour lasts from 12 to 13 hours, as stated verbatim. I invite you to review the details again, and I also recommend that before taking an excursion, you thoroughly study what you will be doing on the tour so you don't encounter any surprises. Lunch is an important part of the tour for everyone. If you think lunch is for shopping, you are mistaken. Once again, I would like to remind you that the itinerary specifically outlines what you will be doing at the Mayan village. We don't understand the reason for your complaint. When you mention "city," which city are you referring to? We would appreciate it if you could be more specific when making a complaint. "DANGER AND ORGANISED MAYHEM" – What do you mean by this? You have provided no basis for such a statement. On the contrary, we are known for our commitment to safety and comfort. If you don't believe us, you can ask the 300 passengers who take our tour every day. If you felt in "danger," why didn't you communicate or take any action? If you have legitimate reasons for making such claims, please provide evidence.
A perfect day.
Adam_S, Sep 2023
The whole day was amazing. 100% worth doing and incredible value for money. Carlos was a great tour guide. One thing that isnt mentioned in the description is that the tour guide spoke a lot about how the Mayans used obsidian for energy and healing, and how the world is energy, which we found really cool. We knew this anyway, but it was amazing hearing that even the Mayans believed in this as well. Be prepared, it is a long day traveling, but it is worth it.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Indeed, there are plenty of mystical surprises along the trip, this tour is not just about "looking at a pyramid", it is a complete immersive experience where our guides will share very valuable and amazing information about the Mayan Civilization. Thanks for your appreciable feedback!

Great trip be ready for quite a bit of stops to shop… maybe pricy even.. this option does come with lunch at the Mayan place.. so really don’t need all inclusive
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Dear Mr. Baxter, We appreciate your excellent punctuation. Thank you very much for that. Regarding the shops, you can check the itinerary to see how many stops are on the tour and the duration of each of them. If you wish to enjoy an All-Inclusive tour, which includes unlimited drinks on board, a special and refreshing drink in the restaurant, breakfast in the morning, a buffet "All you can eat," one-of-a-kind service and attention, and the sensation that you don't need anything else but to enjoy every minute, the answer is yes to the "All-Inclusive package." Kind regards.
Great tour
