Awesome Cancun Travel Experience!
Ashley_M, Apr 2024
My husband and I both enjoyed our tour to the Tulum Ruins. Our tour guide Mary and driver Felipe are true professionals! Mary was the best, and it is clear that she is passionate about what she does. Not only did she answer anticipated questions, she spaced out and timed the tour with perfection. We greatly enjoyed the tour of the ruins and the refreshing swim in the cenote was awesome! Communication from the company was excellent and the transportation pick up and drop off was seamless. We also booked our private transportation to/from the airport to our hotel with the same company and it was amazing! I highly recommend this tour and booking experience and will use them in the future without hesitation.
Fun Day Trip
Alan_G, Mar 2024
We were the first to be picked up at 7:15 AM. There were 4 other stops to make on the way for pickups (not too bad in my opinion). This made the total journey time ~ 3 hours. Once at Tulum, Jerry did a fantastic job telling us what to watch out for as we made our way through the hectic surroundings. Inside, he gave a very informative presentation for ~ 45 minutes and then we got ~ 45 minutes to explore on our own. Following this, we went back by the entrance where there is a taco stand and all had lunch. The fish tacos here were the best I have ever had. Following lunch, we all got back on the shuttle and took a short ride over to the Cenote. The tour was worth it for the Cenote alone. Beautiful setting and perfect waters for taking a swim after walking around Tulum for a few hours. We got ~ 1 hour at the Cenote and then boarded the bus again. We got back to our hotel ~ 4:30. This is definitely a full day excursion. Yes, there is a lot of time in the shuttle. I saw the direct pickup at the hotel as a convenience as opposed to having to meet somewhere and then get picked up. At this price point, I don't think you will find anything else that is offering a "quicker" trip to Tulum that includes pickup right at your front door. Overall, I enjoyed the trip quite a bit (probably not great for my 5 and 7 year old though with all of the waiting and heat).
Fun day in Tulum
Dom_W, Feb 2024
Mari was great tour guide. She was very informative and a joy to be around. My only recommendation on the whole experience would be to try to plan out the resorts other people were staying at closer together. One family was picked up at 7 15 while our pick up time was 9 15. I understand having to fill the bus load. But seemed little too far apart. Other than that the expierence was great and learned alot :)
Ask for Jerry
Pricilia_M, Feb 2024
I loved our excursion. Jerry was very knowledgeable and very personable. I can tell he enjoys interacting with the group and he did an amazing job of teaching us about the Mayan culture. The cenote was beautiful. 10/10 would recommend and special shout out to Rene!
7 of the 8 hours spent in then van.
Jeff_N, Jan 2024
The actual tour was good and cenote was great. However, the add says Approx 8 hours. We were picked up at 7am dropped off at 6:45 pm. Spent over 7 hours in the van. Missed an event because this tour took longer then advertised
Small tour that could be better
Mahesh_V, Dec 2023
We booked this tour and realized there is another tour that includes Coba ruins and Playa De Carmen priced almost the same. Please install WhatsApp on your phones that way communication becomes easier used by tour operators. We were contacted a day before on WhatsApp and via an email to be ready by 7:25 AM. As soon as I came out of hotel in downtown Cancun, the pickup van was ready 5 minutes before given time. The tour operator than took us to various hotels to pickup remaining passengers. The van was sufficient for 15 people or less and didn’t had any bathroom on board, but the tour guide Sylvester told us that he can stop if given pre-intimation. The tour includes the admission cost but does not include the conservation fees that is $23 or 340 pesos. Better to pay in pesos as you’ll save some. There is a walk of about 0.5 miles before we reach the entrance to ruin so be prepared for that walk both ways. Our tour guide was good with history and explained well but he was heavy on accent, but manageable for me. We took some good photos as Tulum is right on the beach. As we were busy taking photos the tour guide left us and we didn’t realize where he went. We called the tour operator and any other number we could find but still were not able to reach him. Ultimately we decided to go back to place where we parked. Later we ate at Subway as there are very few options over there to eat. After finishing our lunch we went to Cenote Tulum Casa Tortuga. The entrance fees was included. This cenote has multiple cenotes in it and is really easier for family to enjoy in water. Life jacket should be worn but most of the people were not wearing them. Since I didn’t swim so I didn't needed it. This cenote was better because we could go near water without wearing swim costumes and dip our foot in it. There are multiple shops for purchasing item and food. There was tequila tasting included in the tour and I tried few. The return took same route and since we boarded from downtown Cancun we were the last one to be dropped off. We were back in hotel by 6:00 PM. The only thing I didn’t like about this tour was that it covered only Tulum when Coba can also be covered in the same day. Food was not included. Secondly the tour guide left us during Tulum ruins.

Dear Mahesh_V Thank you for reviewing our Tulum Day-Trip Experience, we appreciate your feedback. Communication is paramount, we use text, voicecalls and Whatsapp so no information is lost! We are glad to hear our driver and guide arrived on time for you, we work dilligently to create a schedule that works for our valued guests. Our guides will take you around the Mayan City of Tulum and will share many interesting facts about our heritage. We understand that the breathtaking views may pull your attention but please do stick with your guide at all times! After walking in Tulum, the cenote truly is the best way to cool off and freshen up! Tulum is the sole focus of this tour, we do offer visits to both sites for small groups privately! Let us know if you ever visit us again to make it happen for you! Warm regards, The Cancun Travel Experience Team
Overall good but long wait.
Guimy_d, Dec 2023
Jerry our guide was very sweet and gave us quite a lot of information. You could tell he liked chatting with us and was passionate about the area. I did have to wait 45mn at my pick up point and comms around this were very unclear. First I was told there was an accident on the road, then that some ppl ‘had been lost’. It would have been great to be kept updated so I could stay in my hotel instead of standing out there for nothing.
Great tour
Cindy_M, Dec 2023

Julie_W, Dec 2023
Beautiful location and history was explained in detail. Would of liked longer there. Great swimming in the Cenote, again beautiful surroundings.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Dear Julie_W Thank you for such kind comments! Tulum truly is a beautiful location, our guides go into very interesting details about our heritage. After visiting the sunny ruins, cooling off at the cenote is the best thing! Hasta Pronto! The Cancun Travel Experience Team

Highly recommend !
Natalie_G, Oct 2023
The tour guide Edwin and driver Luis were incredible ! Very informative and interactive. The ruins are definitely worth seeing and the cenote was such a fun experience ! 10/10 would recommend ! I was not prepared for such a long day. If you are considering booking please read further . The day started with 4 hours worth of bus pick ups and travel before arriving in Tulum. Of course this time would vary on the amount of people booked across the multiple hotel pick up options . After visiting the ruins there was an option for free time and a late lunch around 1 pm before heading to the cenote . We left the cenote by 4:30pm and as the last bus stop, arrived back at our condo at 8:30 pm. The tour was worth the long day but I would recommend bringing food , snacks , drinks and anything else you may need while being out for an entire day. Would also be wise to bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, swim suit and water shoes of flip flops.
Response from Host, Nov 2023

Not worth the entire day of your vacation
Kris_S, Oct 2023
The host did not prepare any tickets/entrance fees ahead of time. Once we reached Tulum entrance, the group waited 30minutes while the host stood in line to get tickets (which was way lower price than the cash he had collected), only to find out they didn't accept the cash or his credit card - we wait another 30minutes until one of the guests in the group decided to use his credit card to let the group through and not waste more time. You get to see Tulum and swim in the cenote as offered but 80% of the trip or day is wasted on waiting or in the car. I would recommend finding a better service provider or rent your own car to visit these places because the entrance fee is very cheap.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Dear Kris_S Thank you for reviewing our Tulum Day-Trip excursion, your feedbacks helps us to improve. Our guides have all the necessary equipment needed to provide a flawless experience to our valued guests. That being said, due to a sudden change made by the local authorities, our guide was unable to use the instruments provided. Knowing this, our Customer Service team jumped to action to resolve this matter as soon as possible, one of our valued guests jumped into action and assisted our guide for which we are truly grateful. This excursion visits two locations, the Tulum local tax fee and the Natural Reserve Fee. Both are collected during your pickup so our guests can focus on having fun and enjoy themselves. To our valued guests staying in Cancun or Playa del Carmen, take into consideration that transportation takes around 2 hours on average. This is shown on our product page so our valued guests are aware of this and can plan accordingly. We hope you had a fantastic time in our destination, hasta pronto! The Cancun Travel Experience Team
Good time

Never again … your better off going on your own
nikolaos_k, Aug 2023
It was supposed to be 6 hours and ended up being an hour in Tulum and an hour at the cenote with no tequila tasting . Our tour guide gave us a 10 min pep talk and and then left us to walk around .He gave us one hour to walk freely and meet him back at the beginning which was a taco stand for us to have optional lunch . It takes 20 minutes to get there so …there was not enough time to see everything. Moments I waited for my entire life and I was with my family speed walking trying to make sure we can see as much as possible while everyone else around us were with a guide being taught and explained what they were looking at . I know I paid for 6 hours . Does the 6 hours mean the drive as well ?… and how is it a tour of the guide is not there . And last but not least at the cenote he had me leave my wallet with him and said he would watch it . I had to wake him up cuz he was asleep next to all our stuff
Response from Host, Aug 2023

Good but rushed
Daphne_R, Jul 2023
It was a great time. I just wish the tour was not as rushed as it was bc it was difficult to even take pictures and actually enjoy the experience. There was not even allotted time for changing out of the wet clothing i had to just go on my own terms and risk being left bc it was a long 1hour ride and i did not want to sit on wet clothing.
Response from Host, Jul 2023

Fantastic Day Excursion-Highly Recommend
Kristen_H, Jul 2023
We had a fantastic time on this excursion. Layla was our tour guide and Jimmy was our driver and both were fantastic! Layla provided really great historical facts about the mayans and their culture and had a lot of enthusiasm in her education! I learned things many new things. The hotel pick up is super convenient and appreciated but does take some time; good time to relax. Tulum is first and it was so very hot. Bring the items stated in the post, hat, sunblock, comfy walking shoes, etc. I saw many people walking with umbrellas for shade and recommend that. There are places to get drink and food if needed. After Tulum, you go to the cenote and it was so welcomed and refreshing. The rocks are a little slippery so water shoes would be ideal! Stay hydrated! Overall, it was a great day and would 100% recommend this excursion. Layla and Jimmy were the best!
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Dear Kristen_H Thank you for reviewing our Tulum Day Trip Experience, we appreciate your feedback. Both Layla and Jimmy are masters of their craft. They, along with the rest of our crew and staff, work tirelessly to deliver a fantastic excursion. The ruins are full of history that our guides are eager to share with you. Layla is very knowledgeable about our Mayan Heritage. After walking in the Mayan Ruins, theres no better way to finish than with a refreshing dip at the cenote. We hope to see you back with us very soon, hasta pronto! The Cancun Travel Experience Team
Learned alot about the history, but...
Iris_C, Jun 2023
The tour was very organized, when someone didn't show up at their pickup time, our tour guide acted quickly in ensuring that the schedule of the day wasn't impacted by people who did not show up. We enjoyed learning about the history and our tour guide was very knowledgable and had lots to share, however, we joined the tour hoping that we would have a guide who would tour the site with us and explain things along the way. Our guide simply brought us to the site, stood under a tree and spoke for a good 15 mins about the history before telling us we have free time at the site. We ended up reading the info on the plagues ourselves, which kind of defeated the purposes of us going with the tour group. The walk to the site was also long (half an hr walk in the heat), wish we could have transport that brings us a little closer to the entrance.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Dear Iris_C, Thank you for your review on our Ultimate Tulum Experience Mayan Ruins & Cenote Swim from Cancun. We believe feedback is the only way to improve the experience. We are glad to hear our tour guide was able to keep up the schedule of the day, time is very important so you can get back on time to your hotel. There is a lot of information behind Mayan culture, we would love to share all of their knowledge with you, but we believe exploring the ruins is a great way to get immersed in the experience. Nevertheless, we are glad you enjoyed the experience overall and we hope to have you back soon to share some more history with you. The Cancun Travel Experience Team
