What To Expect

Avoid tourist traps and learn how to eat like a local gourmet on this half-day evening tour designed by guides with advanced degrees in art history and the evolution of food.

Meet your gourmet guide and small group of no more than eight people in the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, where you’ll whet your appetite with black truffle bruschetta and a tasting of famous Tuscan wines like Chianti or Carmignano. Learn about the history and science of truffles, highly flavorful tubers that can't be cultivated and are only found in certain regions of Italy. Stroll along one of the city’s most elegant streets in the fashion district, and stop at a historic shop for a gourmet tasting featuring a white truffle sandwich, foie gras or wild salmon and a refreshing glass of reserve Prosecco Antinori. 

Take in fantastic views of the Ponte Vecchio as you cross the river into the Oltarno district, and stop at a historic palazzo for a tasting of premier extra-virgin olive oils.     Chef Vary is a fantastic chef and her husband is a superb host. We had a fantastic time at their house. Our guide that brought us around Florence for tastings was knowledgeable and fun to chat with. This tour is well worth it and one of the best things you can do in Florence.

    Very nice tour with 3 stops in different places around Florence city center, tasting truffles, wines and oils! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and at the end of the tour we had a fantastic truffle dinner (3 courses) together with other guests in a real Florentine house. Very local experience and look at the pictures that speak for themselves!
