REAL bad.

The guide did not show up. Ruined our day. After making numerous attempts got hold of the tour operator who had no clue where the guide was. Told me to wait half hour and then later cancelled the tour. Messed your whole day. Not good. Viator must remove them. I do understand that issues can occur but this tour operator did not bother to give us a 24 hour heads up or make alternate attachments for the same date and time.

Do Not Book This Tour

We purchased an English language private tour of the historical sites near the Zocalo. Instead, our guide simply did not have a mastery of English. She had practiced sets of English words, but they generally did not make much sense when strung together. She did not understand questions that were asked of her and the tour was pretty much worthless. She was nice, but that did not help us much.

We were told 10 minutes before the start of the tour that the guide couldn’t make it, and that the tour had to be cancelled. Did get a refund, but it adversely impacted our plans.

Erick is a terrific guide, and we'd highly recommend this tour to those wanting a good overview of the historic center. This was our first tour as we were getting oriented in Mexico City. Erick showed us many of the key buildings and places in Zocalo. His stories animated each stop along the way. Erick welcomed all of our questions, and his warm personality made the day memorable. We were very pleased with this tour. Ivan was on time, spoke great English, and provided us with a lot of interesting information. He conducted the tour starting at the end of the ruins so there were fewer people, which was helpful. We would recommend this tour whole heartedly.

Guide never showed up. We called but the phone was disconnected. Called Viator who also called the company and found the same - phone disconnected. Viator sent an email to the company and said we may receive a refund pending their investigation. That is the last we heard, before receiving this request for a review.

The tour guide did not show up. Only after we asked, the operator told us that the tour was cancelled because of health issues. We were not contacted beforehand. Although I can understand a cancellation because of health issues (if it is true) it was really annoying: We lost a lot of time waiting and then replanning the whole day. The tour got refunded four days later.

Impossible tour

There was no confirmation sent out regarding the tour whatsoever. On the day of our tour (2 hrs before our tour), our tour guide canceled the tour due to his health condition. I understand that unexpected situations occur. The problem I have is that there was no confirmation regarding our tour sent out and the tour operator was not very responsive. Very unprofessional. Please be aware that communication with the tour operator is almost impossible. I hope that you don't have to go through this.

Erick was a superb tour guide. It was very easy to communicate with him prior to meeting, and he was very well prepared with an interesting and engaging itinerary. He was very personable and enthusiastic, and gave plenty of time and opportunity to ask questions. He is very knowledgeable about México City, and really puts in great effort to show you the city and ensure you enjoy your time. I would highly recommend his tour early in your visit - you’ll learn some great history as well as useful tips that will help for the rest of your visit.
