Meeting and Pickup

Meeting point

  • 209 Broadway, New York, NY 10007, USA

Please meet our tour concierge outside St. Paul's Chapel on Broadway (between Fulton & Vesey Streets). They will be there 15 minutes before the tour starts and will be wearing an orange hat.

End point

  • One World Observatory
117 West St, New York, NY 10007, USA

You will go to the One World Observatory on your own after the tour. You can spend as long as you like at the top but most people spend about an hour.

What To Expect

Get started by heading to St. Paul’s Chapel in Lower Manhattan where you’ll meet your guide outside. In the wake of the attacks on September 11, this church, the city’s oldest, became a haven for rescue workers and a place for mourners to find solace and pray.

Browse among the photographs and other memorabilia that are on display inside the church. After looking around inside, head to the Oculus, which serves as the entrance to the WTC transportation hub.

Then visit Ground Zero and the National September 11 Memorial with your guide. See structures such as Brookfield Place (formerly known as the World Financial Center) and listen to your guide's tales about the day when two jumbo jets flew into the two World Trade towers, a day that shocked the world.

See the Fireman’s Memorial and meander around the area where the two World Trade towers once stood. Take a moment to ponder the incident by staring into the two giant reflecting pools, the footprints left by the Twin Towers, as you read some of the names of the 3,000 victims of the attacks that are inscribed on the side of the pools.

The guided portion of the tour ends here. But if you’ve opted for the upgrade, head over to One World Trade Center to ascend up to One World Observatory for a spectacular view.

One World Observatory Admission: You can skip the typically long line with your prebooked ticket and head right to the elevator, or Sky Pod, as they are called here. While ascending up 102 floors, take delight in a short video that shows how New York City has transformed over the last few centuries. On the 100th floor, be sure to stop and take in the incredible views while standing 1,250-feet (365-meters) in the sky. And if you’re not too afraid of heights, walk out onto the 14-foot (4-meter) Sky Portal where you can look right down on all the street activity happening below.

Once on the 101st floor, enjoy a beverage or something to eat in the café or fine dining restaurant.

NOT AT ALL WHAT IS PROMISED. WARNING I WAS TOLD BY 9/11 WORKER MY TICKET WAS NOT VALID
Katherine_A, Feb 2024
I showed up at the 9/11 museum. I was told by the worker that I didn't have a valid ticket. After calling Viator. I was told that I would not be given a refund. I was embarrassed with my friend as I had pre-booked this experience & she was forced to re-purchase tickets. It is very disappointing.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you for your feedback. After further investigation, it appeared that you only booked for the 90-minute guided tour of the Memorial which doesn't include Museum tickets. Before you joined the tour, we received your call and clarified this with you as well as offered you to upgrade your booking by including these tickets, however, you resisted. If you wish to discuss this matter, we encourage you to write to us at: info@exp1.com. Best wishes, The ExperienceFirst team

The guide David was wonderful. I loved how he used his own experience with his father being at Ground Zero made it more pertinent. He also made sure everyone was included with their own memories. I also liked his passion for what he was talking about.

James was amazing, as a true New Yorker he gave such a great insight to the 9/11 tragedy. Very kind and knowledgeable. Our trip was short so we did not go into the museum, hopefully next trip. If you have a choice, choose James as your tour guide, it was a great experience.

Disappointed
Edward_L, Oct 2023
The museum was closed so a huge amount of content was missed on the tour. Recommend not offering this tour when the museum is closed. The tour guide did a good job and was informative. Terribly disappointed.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We do not offer our tour option that has the museum access every Tuesday as the museum is closed. Additionally, it appears that the tour you booked doesn't include the museum. We're sorry for any misunderstanding. If you wish to discuss this matter, we encourage you to write to us at: info@exp1.com. Best wishes, The ExperienceFirst team

Kibbee_M, Jul 2023
The heroism and struggles of the men and women. Tour guide was great. Thank you Angelica. She was great and her personal stories of the event were meaningful
Disappointed
Linda_L, Jul 2023
I asked our tour guide to help me download my museum tickets because I kept getting an error message. Since I paid extra for the observatory tickets and I was handed them at the beginning of. the tour he said that these included the museum tickets as well. They FID NOT. I had to buy tickets to the museum when I had already given Viator the money for them. Cost an additional $96 or the museum
Fantastic!
Jason_H, Jul 2023
Fantastic, insightful and informative! Told from a real New Yorker who lived through it! Can't recommend it enough!

Frank_M, Jun 2023
Our guide, Jim, made this tour so memorable. Jim is so knowledgeable about 911 because he lived it, heard it and saw it. He has such passion and respect for the victims, firefighters, and policemen who gave their lives to rescue those trapped in the towers. He makes this tour one to book. I could take the tour again and I highly recommend it.
awesome
